Long distance relationships can be very challenging and long times in between!
you must "always", i quote "always", keep the lines of communications open daily if at all possible, via telephone conversations if even brief ones at that, sending text messages can be a great help, my (now ex) Master and i would text everyday, he would receive one from me every morning as he wished this!. you should try to connect and chat online when thats possible! Sending letters and cards is thoughtful too!
Even asking him for one of his shirts to wear while your apart! He even asked me to get him one to keep here at my home for when he visited me, he would have something to lounge around in and feel comfortable!
i still have it..... :)
Its a wonderful feeling knowing that you have his shirt on and it makes you feel even more close to him. Mine was flattered that i even had asked him such a thing. he smiled and said he thought that was a great idea!
Have plenty of his photo's all over the home, for veiwing in every room!
Little mimentos of him and you bring such a warmth to the heart!
and of course spending as much time in the Physical flesh as possible!
That makes it all worth while............ 
~ Touching, loving one another and being able to look each other in the eyes and enjoy that specail touch we each provide for one another!
