Switch Dom Drop - 5/19/2004 4:22:13 AM

Hello,

I am not sure this is the right place to post this, but I had a question about something which seems like it could happen, but have no supporting information on.

If a switch is a top without bottoming for a long period of time, can that person enter a state of ennui and or depression from being asked to scene others repeatedly with no play time for themselves?

I would love some feedback on this.

Regards,

Sinergy

I would say so.

I have run into the same thing in other kinds of roleplay, such as Dungeons & Dragons,etc...game masters often speak of this kind of depression along with a sense of creative burnout, usually stated as "yes, but I want to PLAY the game too now and then, not just run it!"

Looked at from a Reverse Engineering standpoint, any switch who can Dom can go through Dom drop...the human emotional system is just as vulnerable as any other kind to wear and tear when processing only one sort of energy to a depletion point.

Hmmm... kind of like an itch you cant scratch. Yes have had such a feeling myself. Almost like im trapped in the role. Although my r/l slave would have no problems with me exploring my sub side, its still something i feel i should not be doing. Perhaps because it lessens me in her eyes, which i know even as i type is silly because she loves me dearly. But i have to be Dom for her... if that makes sence? *wonders off in muddle*

Yes, that is about as silly as saying that "REAL" Doms never switch...funny how the Command Line never seems to suffer in a Special Forces team, even when "everybody" on that team is a sargeant.

A Dom who knows what he is about can never "lessen" Himself in the eyes of his property except by true disrespect...but for some subs, and some switches, inexperiece on either side of the partnership can come to FEEL like much the same thing.

Respectfully Submitted,
PacefulTop

I've felt that way when I used to play online. Domming becomes a defense against all the trolls. But, you yearn for a chance to show your softer side and be Dommed too. I burnt out on IRC that way. Now I almost never chat online. Just found this site and was really pleased to find a board for Switches. :)

On a marginally related note. Military teams with a rigid chain of command structure almost never win in endurance competitions. The teams which win are those were all parties work together and there is not a hierarchical command structure.

Brightest Blessings

Not sure if this will be an acceptable answer to the question posed, however that hardly ever stops me LOL. ( This is my first post to collarme so not sure of what he rules and regs are)

I live as a owned slave, and I am a switch in both BDSM play and M/s however my Owner is not a switch. He does get off very much on the fact that he Owns me and controls me and that I control others ( we are poly and are team when there is a third in our family)

I have gone thru "depressions" when I have been unable to feed the Dom/Top side of myself. I become restless, and moody. Even pushing the limits of my "leash".

Blessed Be

Email from you is never harassment Gem, even when it says "Mistress may I serve you". But be careful of what you ask for; I might just say yes!

Hope you and D can make it on the 31st. It's been too long since I've seen you both. :)

I have a potantial slave, and he has told me that he wouldn't have any problems w/ me having a Dom while he's my slave. Not sure yet if I'll ever bring them together but that is a way to solve the problem... Also, I'm planning on teaching my slave on some domination techs that I like. There are things that can be done to fulfill some submissive cravings while being dominant. I'll love to just have one person that can satify both my needs but I know that is a bit hard to find... I'll keep searching!

I think that anytime we have our needs/serious wants neglected for long periods of time, without sight of getting it again, we can go into depression, it has nothing to do with switching, it is just a basic human thing.

thank you for reading this, have a great day,

pixie

Yes, and when this has happened, I approached a trusted Dom/me friend and asked if they could play me. My happiness is my responsibility.

i Know this Topic is old but just to say here being slave 2 Master who is also a Switch *Yes* 2 the original question .i see Him conflicting within sometimes and confused and it hurts me bcuse He at times doesnt feel He can share His feelings *bcuse He is the Master thats why* ~ which is Exactly Why He Should be able to share and have Anything He Chooses , Needs , Etc . And though We are a part of the New Age BDSMers the Politics and Judgementalism of this LifeStyle just make things harder with the you cant this and you shouldn't that , that is out there and eeks in from time to time .

To the Poster of this Response of this original Topic ~ Your slave is Your slave and there to *serve You*. Not just in some ways but in All Ways . So now i have some questions for You . How can You be her Master when Your Needs are not met ? How does hiding Your Needs and feelings facilitate an M/s rship , which is meant to be Open Heart to Heart Soul to Soul ? How can she Truly be Your slave if You dont Trust her ?

wondering ?????

Respectfully , suni

Yes, though I would not allow myself to be used as a doormat in that way.

I am far too self-orientated to allow others to take liberties, and to service other's needs without getting release myself, is acting as a doormat.

We each need to relax in our own ways, if I don't switch from one polarity to another in a while, then yes, I find my stress levels going through the roof, though I would not describe it as ennui, but rather Mount St Helen's getting ready to blow.

Regards

I have, on those occasions where I don't get in any sub time for long periods. A few years ago, the Missus underwent a career crisis and was under a lot of stress. I spent a lot of time topping because she seriously needed to unwind on the weekends so that she could go back to her job the next monday. It did take its toll on me, but hey - I strive to serve.
