I'm 5'10 and prefer a man my height or taller, for most of the reasons already stated by  most of the taller women.  I've also had some very nice dates with men that were a couple of inches shorter....shortest was the 5'6 hottie when i was 19....he liked the whole amazon girl thing.  However the most  physically affecting relationship was with a man who was 6'9"  (enhanced my feelings of submission a great deal).  Best thing was....with him...i got to feel what it was like to be "dwarfed"   and could  still reach everything on the top shelf  .  That my friends...is the best of both worlds.

I guess height is a tnt issue.  Honestly I don't care if anyone finds me "shallow" or "superficial", I know I am not.  I also am self-aware enough to know that I don't want to date a short guy.  And I truly do not want one dominating me.  It's a physical attraction thing, plain and simple.  And I'm okay with that.

*sighs*

here we go again

the life of guys i've dated to satisfy all naysayers - i've dated guys who were 4'11" ...2  who were 5ft ...lots who were my height or inch or two taller. all good friends however we merely didn't click in personality or were looking for something else not because of height.  some of the shorter guys i've dated loved having a woman towering over them - it's a guy thing especially when going to a hot club in Chicago. even the guys with a height reaching the sky, it never bothered me because that does not makes or break a relationship to me.

I'm 5'5" and Loraith stands a couple of inches taller than me.  My preference is for taller men.  I've dated one man who was shorter than me (5'3"), and although I told myself it was something minor, I was very concious of the height difference when we were standing next to each other...especially when we were dancing.  Come to think of it, so was he.

I wouldn't classify height or weight as hard limits or deal-breakers, because I've found myself attracted to people over time that I wasn't initially attracted to.  It had everything to do with personality.

My Master is pretty much the exact same height as me, and it doesn't really bother me.  The woman I was with was the same way, so I guess I got used to it.

Master has a presence about him, and that is there no matter his height.  That is what draws me to him, makes me obey, and brings out my submissive side.  If it ever does bother me, I realize its more my being insecure about what others think, than me actually caring myself.

I have dated 6' 7" men that didn't make me feel submissive at all, its more the man that does it, not the height.

It does not bother me, I do not like heels anyways, and I can wear them, but I think I need to clarify. I joked about wearing 6 inch heels to a fetish event. That would make me considerably taller than he... he has not told me never to wear heels ever. In fact I wore a regular pair(I was about the same height as he with them on) to his employee Christmas party.

He does not like the thought of me wearing extreme heels and I was just suggesting it to look like a freak

I did go on a first-meet date with a Dom, and he was the same height as myself without my 2" heels on (so was a tad taller then him at the time) and he wanted me to learn to walk in 5" heels a lot, so then I had both height issues and foot comfort ones as well.  Never found out if it was just that he had a high heel kink, or he liked much taller woman (would have put me at 6'2" with 5" ones on).  So for myself those were two negative aspects, but were likely 2 positives for himself.  For a variety of reasons besides that we never had another meet again.  Personally not into the Amazon Woman thing (again I am 5'9" and  + 1/2" on a good day).

A side note on inseams here.  For being the same height a woman will typically have a longer inseam than a man, as her back bones stop growing before her leg bones so, thus the common attraction for "long legged woman." Even moderatly tall woman often need longer inseams such as being 5'9-5'11 needing 34" to 35" inseams. Often these woman are "short waisted" as a result.   I have a slightly longer torso so have only 31-32" inseam, and regular off the rack misses/juniors sizes fit just fine most of the time in my case.

But back to this main topic here, there are likely many influences that affect our height preference including social pressures growing up, but to recall a bondage play scene, I enjoyed having the 6'6 guy being able to pick me up or turn me without any problem at all, and I really felt very submissive when so easily manhandled.  I felt like a kitten in his hands...and puurrrrrrrr did that feel nice!

I know that is why I want to lose about 20 more lbs, because it would make it easier for him to manhandle me in that way. I weigh about 170, and while that is not particularly "fat" for my height, I do know that I would feel much "smaller" if I were actually smaller...lol

I have decided "ditto" to this, people can assume whatever they like about me here, it really does not matter in the big scheme of things.

I do not think it is completely superficial that a physical trait in another may make you feel in the deepest recesses of yourself uncomfortable. Short men make me feel like a mommy, not like a submissive woman... that is the way I feel, and I am starting to think that I am being attacked for my inner feelings... we all have a right to those without some sort of moral judgment on us. I am sure you would not want to have sex with someone that made you feel like you were with a UM

shuuuush now julia...no one is attacking you...i happen to feel the same way you do, just express it differently.

At first thought it may seem shallow to prefer tall men, but would it be shallow to prefer someone who's IQ isn't lower than mine?
It is all part of what attracts us to someone else that's all. I don't date short unintelligent humorless men & I really don't think that is being shallow. What attracts me to a man is just that, what attracts me. Attraction is important & a part of compatiblility.

And I am 5'6" (and 3/4's) with a 34" inseam lol.

I have decided not to comment to you unless it is positive, take that anyway you like, but you are allowed to whatever opinions you like to have... just as I am allowed to mine...

Namaste, take care... and this is not a snarky post. I just do not want to argue about crap that does not matter to me.

I'm pretty short, 5'5". Whenever it becomes an issue, I bow out and avoid that person like the plague from that point on. If someone's going to judge me on my height for WHATEVER reason, I don't need or want her in my life.

I do not blame you there, I have felt that way over being tall myself. I have been rejected because I was too tall, too thin, too big chested, too fat, too this to that... everyone has preferences

Being overly tall for a female is not all it is cracked up to be, let me tell ya

i'm 5'2, and quite honestly, if a man is shorter than me there's a problem. *chuckle*

i know it's a bit superficial, but a man who's shorter than me is a huge turn off. Maybe not so much the height, but weight as well. i'm one of those types that, when in a firey red-headed mood, i love to pretend to resist my Master and be wrestled into control. Now, even though i'm not that big, i'm pretty strong for my size. And i want to know that he can physically handle me.

Hey that's my line biatch!

And anyone who thinks Sinergy would settle for a shallow whore or that a shallow whore would find happiness with him is seriously delusional.

Although I could see times in their bedroom where "shallow whore" would be considered a lot of fun, but that's totally different.
