Me... scene in public... naaaawww... I'm much to shy for that (an anyone who's just read my comments about strippers and Riff Raff should be rolling in the floor laughing just now). Seriously, public play an scenes just aren't my thing. Fine for others, just not for me.

I haven't done it yet but am very interested, although my biggest fear is that I will not please Sir. I'm just afraid of being too much of a wuss. But he did tell me that it will be coming up in the future.

When this thread first stated I would have answered never done it, but I just did for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was great. I was all nerves and shyness but once the blindfold goes on, I just went into my own little space and got completely lost in it. Definitely looking forward to doing it again.

Never done it...can't even get my husband to take me out to eat lol...but if things ever changed...i would be interested in scening publicly...with the right person.

Thank you thank you for the input everyone ... so far I find the results interesting, but not really surprising. No one who has scened before disliked it enough that they would never do it again ... and the number of us who haven't done it and don't intend to is rather small still ... That kinda blows Focus' theory (on the thread that sparked this little poll) out of the water, now doesn't it?

My head hurts right now from a rather abrupt and painful meeting between my temple and a shelf corner, so I'm having trouble finding the exact post in which he presented his theory, but it boils down to most 'real' BDSM practitioners don't go to play parties/public scening arenas and definitely don't actually play at said events... that the only people who go to play parties and/or scene in public are those who view the lifestyle as a hobby or a game and not as part of their 24/7 lives/relationships. Oh, and Focus, just in case you actually read this post, even though I'm sure you consider this poll beneath you - I'm paraphrasing, and if you ask others who have read your posts, I think most will agree that I have the premise correct, even though I'm sure you'll accuse me of quoting out of context just like you do everyone else.

I generally don't do public anything because I feel it's wrong to impose on unwitting participants, but would do it with a partner I trusted/was willing (nothing heavy), and I would do it in a place I felt was adult only and safe do do in. M

In private gathering, i have participated, i guess that is considered public? and i really enjoyed it with the right One. i think it takes a very capable Dungeon Master, and enough Monitors present to watch each session to really work, but ive enjoyed participating.. and just watching. So thumbs up from my direction.

I haven't done it, and most probably never will. This is not a hobby for me. I don't care what others do, but I just want it to be betwen me and her. I'm not into fetish clubs, parties, munches, etc. The idea of it doesn't freak me out, on the other hand, and ya never know sometimes, so I qualify my "never" with a "most probably". Bob

The DM or Monitor should be the ultimate "safe-word" but a lot of their responsibility is to make sure that observers don't become un-invited participants. I suggest spending more time communicating and getting to know your play partner, if it's not the person you came to the party, then relying on a DM.

I have been scening publicly for quite a number of years now and I love it. I must say though that each and every time I am scared to death and nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof before my turn at play begins. Once the clothes come off and I get up there and we get started though, it is only moments before the rest of the room fades to black and He and I are the only ones there.

Yeah, I would count that - but I agree with Mercnbeth that you should trust your partner more than the Dungeon Master/Mistress or the Monitors ... you are the person ultimately responsible for your safety and when you agree to scene with someone, you should trust them to be careful with you .. the first time scening with someone, I can definitely see doing it in a public arena where there are others should something go wrong, but you do still have to trust that person above all else because he/she could do something massive before the DM/Monitors could get to you to stop things.
