The Social Security Number Protection Act of 2007, HR 948, which would prevent obtaining or providing “directly or indirectly, anything of value in exchange for a social security number” and the similar, Senate bill S. 238. As currently worded, there is no exception for private investigators...........

It's bad enough having Big Brother tracking you. Do you really want all the lesser siblings with "licences" clipped from the classifieds of comic books doing the same?

We- as consumers and merchants want to have it both ways.

Recently I complained that something wasnt me. Well to "prove" I was me, I was told to fax drivers license -etc.
I did nothing. One merchant even wanted front and back copy of credit card, and DL. [to confirm the cc] I never faxed.
The order was still processed. [i wonder if the med was/is real]

Clinton declassified tons of classified data.
THO- he also passed HIPPA; so now drs offices are confgured- to talk thru a glass piece, and go in an extra door. When one has pain levels of an 8, simply opening a door can be hell. Keep in mind- call centers in India. [no mean maybe in that culture, so they pesture.] One call I said roger was out tending to his camel. the reply was OMG- sorry, [the jist of it] camels are a manhood thingh there.

So- are we fencing the boogieman out, or placing self in a self /govt imposed prison?

I still have my original social security card. It says clearly and in bold print..."not to be used for identification"
Now it is used routinely. Try to get a passport without one. This is interesting since the U.S. supreme court has ruled that you do not have to have a SS number.

Cleaning out moms attic I have found some astounding things. I too have original SS card, birth certificate- etc.
