I'm sitting here crying.

I put my cat down Feb 12.

I put my Other cat down about 20 minutes ago.

His name was Isis ...and he was 11 yrs old.

Apparantly, he had 20% of one lung working.  I didnt know at all....I thought
he was just pining over my old cat who just died.

He was a good cat and a great friend and I loved him very much.

2 cats in 3 weeks dead.

Sometimes, life just sucks.

I don't know why I am writing, I just need to vent

zam ( named after my other cat )

I don't know if there is anything I can say to make you feel better but my heart goes out to you during this most difficult time (hugs).

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth
It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours

Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills, valleys with lush green grass

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this special place
There is always food and water and warm spring weather

The old and frail are young again
Those who are maimed are made whole again

They play all day with each other
There is only one thing missing

They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up !

The nose twitches !
The ears are up !
The eyes are staring !
And this one suddenly runs from the group !

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her into your arms and embrace
your face is kissed again and again,
and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated

Saw something about a cat on the message boards, and here I am.  I am very sorry for both of your losses.  I have had to put down pets before.  Talk about bad memories.  I loved my female Samoyed and that was truly horrible experience, but she was 16 yrs old and had lived a good life.  I also had a tiny white cat that I loved to pieces.  She developed breast cancer.  The only comfort I could find was that I did the right thing in not letting them suffer.  I took them in to the vet when the time was right.  I try to look back on happier memories.  Every time I think about how sick they were and that final trip to the vet....I try to refocus on the good stuff instead.  But first, I had to deal with the pain of them not being around the house anymore first, and that took some time.  Take care!

Sorry to hear your bad news zammer. I have had a few cats but there was one that was one of a kind and I still miss him.

They are more than just cats. They are friends and companions. I understand your heart ache.

And you know, they are more than friends and companions...for some of us, they are sons and daughters.  They are family.

My heart goes out to you in this time...I'm looking at my "son" right now, and I can't imagine...so I wish you the best, and I wish you strength.

Very sorry to hear of your loss.  I have known the sadness of losing a beloved pet.  Hopefully, you will keep Isis alive in your heart and memories and not let the sadness overshadow the happy times.

Having gone thru the same thing, I know exactly how empty your home and your heart feels right now.  As it was said, remember the good times you had with your babies....keep them alive in your heart.  My three drive me nuts sometimes, but I also dragged their furry little butts from IL to NY, then NY to AZ.....no way would I leave them behind, for they are my babies.  My heart goes out to you, and really, they are in a better place, waiting to see you again.

PS - krissy, that is a beautiful poem......keeping a copy of that one!

Thank you for your kind words everyone.

It's a new day and the sun is out.

The house is a little quieter, my zammer is wondering around looking for the other 2 boys.

But ...I am giving him extra attention and pats and hope to make his life easier.

I'll get 2 kittens in the late spring or summer and make him a Dominant dad.

My sincere appreciation for all the emails....

zam.
