I just thought I would share the conclusion of my job search efforts. The second interview I went to was effective. I now work for a former competitor servicing private and corporate clients' computers and networks for $40/hr. I start tomorrow.

I am very pleased with the results. Much better than the bait and switch interview where they wanted me to build their business (especially when I can *be* their business). This company seems comfortable with me working for myself on the side, which is quite odd. I did not expect that.

I can make some decent cake now.

Do what makes it easier on your stomach. After all, you already know how bad ulcers can be.

but really, congrats. my Master is a software engineer and makes the loot too. seems to be a nice boom right now, invest wisely

I love working for myself in this field. And working as what is in effect and independent contractor is just as good.

Well, I met with him tonight and signed the contract. It is set up as an independent contractor, so I will be putting it under my business account. Sweet deal. Tax breaks. There are no anti-competition clauses or anything. I can still run my own business if I want. Actually, I learned from him tonight that he has another potential contract for me, this one servicing Windows servers for a large company. That is right up my alley as well. I have three of them sitting here beside me, one of them a beta test for Microsoft.

Things keep getting better all the time.
