ORIGINAL: SirHedonicsslave I have even had someone put their finger in my cervix....a very odd feeling. The cervix is usually the limiting factor in how far a person's hand can move during fisting. The location of the cervix can move about related to a woman's cycle and may be farther down than at other times. While SirHedonicsslave comment is true, what WayHome says is also true, however I'll say that it is impossible (consensually) to enter the cervical canal. But a multiparous (has had a child delivered though the cervix) os (the os is the opening from the tip of the cervix to leading into the uterus) is no longer a simple narrow dimple, rather it often develops a "fishmouth" shape. When this occurs it may feel to both the receiver and giver that the finger enters the cervix though what it is doing is entering the funnel shaped modified opening leading to the cervical canal. Some women enjoy this through digital stroking, and pressing (though one should never try force) and others enjoy this (or hate this) when the logistics are such that the male's penis hits the cervix repeatedly. Some perceive this as pain, some perceive this as not-pain and find it erotically exciting. The cervical canal is usually filled with mucus. It may be filled with menstual material during menses. Sperm can swim though the mucus so in effect the canal is open to them, but bacteria run into auto-immune components and are attacked. As WayHome stated intra-uterine procedures (such as fertility insemination) utilize sterile procedures due to risk of infection. To give you an idea how difficult and sensitive the cervical canal actually is consider this: Often a very narrow sterile bamboo rod (perhaps few millimeters wide) is inserted into the cervical canal. The woman leaves, and the next day returns for the procedure. The bamboo rod has doubled in diameter over the past 12 hours now giving an opening making intra-uterine fertilization devices access. If it takes 12 hours to painlessly dilate the canal by a few millimeters I suspect a finger won't fare too well trying to pentrate the actual canal. For a picture of a nulliparous cervix see: http(removeme)://library.med.utah.edu/WebPath/FEMHTML/FEM002.html canupleaseme's question as to how far can one go: As far as is comfortable. Women who have had their cervix removed can probably take a fist deeper. Women with prolapsed uterus will likely not be quite as deep, and in some cases the cervix to vaginal opening can be quite short. Gentle pressure against the cervix can be perceived as amazingly stimulating by some. I believe that this pressure triggers oxytocin release, essentially fooling the body into beleiving that the mother is giving birth. This is simply my hypothesis and I cannot prove it. But if this is true, and since oxytocin is a bonding hormone, the fistee will develop a chemical bond to the fister over time for it is oxytocin that bonds the mother and child canuplease me states: "in our last session we got well past the wrist by about 2 inches ! And i felt quite happy for more(im greedy and it feels so fucking good !) But will that cause damage?" I like this statement because it relates to us here. The prime role of the dominant is to be protective. I believe that the prime role of the dominant in fisting is to make sure that the woman does not lose touch with reality and become too agressive. In my experience it is quite common to find a woman say, as canupleaseme said: "i'm greedy." Pain and pleasure become routinely mixed up in this realm but to have pain feel as pleasure when the pain is indicative of cervical damage could be tragic. So I think "slow and easy," and try things incrementally. Fisting is, I believe, the most intimate and emotional act that a couple can perform together.
