From The Guardian: A man, 43, decided to settle his imminent divorce by using a chainsaw to split a family home in two. Police in the eastern town of Sonneberg said yesterday that the trained mason measured the single-story summer house - which was about eight metres long and six metres wide (26ft by 20ft) - before sawing through the wooden roof and walls. "The man said he was just taking his due," said a police spokesman. "But I don't think his wife was too pleased." After finishing the job, the man picked up his half using a forklift truck and drove to his brother's house, where he has been staying.

If he has, someone will be doing the washing up not realising they've been transported to a different part of Germany. The police spokesman deserves some credit for "the wife will not be too pleased". Understatement of the century, she'll be going apeshit.

People frequently become so irrational and crazy when they divorce! Check out The War of the Roses, for a film about a couple who divides the house in half and the misery they dish out to each other. Oh hellyeah! I have watched some absolutely unbelievable shit go down in divorces, nothing people do surprises me anymore.
