Good afternoon,
i am going to be getting a tattoo on my left side underneath the shoulder blade, that way it hopefully won't hurt as much. But anyways, i was wondering this: Because my Dom likes to flog me over my backside, over time will the tattoo start to fade faster if my Dom likes to flog me all over? i hope this doesn't sound confusing.
  Thank you all

I dont think he would be able to flog you enough for it to make it fade faster ?  I have ten tattoos now the most painful one i had done was on my lower back at the right hand side under my shoulder blades but it wasnt unbearable. Once you get over the fact that youve started you have to finish and accept how it feels I usually enjoy it.  Make sure he doesnt flog you anywhere near it while its healing though and follow your tattoists aftercare well.  I had one tattoo need refilling when I didnt maintain it after properly and that hurts !!!!

flogging (or other types of impact play) have not had any adverse effects on my tattoos so far (i've had them for about a year, a little more for one). i asked the artist at the time, and he said it should not affect the tattooing (barring, of course, breaking the skin, or impact play around the area while it's still healing).

So long as you hold off on the area impact play for about 2 weeks it should be fine. If you engage in impact play before its healed, you ould A: cause it to scab. B: flog the scab off. Both are bad, and both will cause quicker fading.

On the other hand, tattys itch like crazy, and a quick direct slap usually stops the itching for a while.. maybe that could substitute.

The tattoo itself is ink in suspention between the dermis and epidermis. Once fully healed <this means the tattoo no longer looks different in texture than the surrounding skin having a matte appearance not shiny> short of deep cuts through it it will be tottally and completely unharmed. What would remove the ink would also likely leave scars. I have seen cases wher caning had caused ink to blur this was a result of very virorous work and resulting lesions. I would probably advise 6 weeks before flogging directly on the area.
