A lobbyist, on his way home from work in Washington, DC, came to a dead
halt in traffic and thought to himself, "Wow, this traffic seems worse than
usual." He noticed a police officer walking between the lines of stopped
cars so he rolled down his window and asked, Officer, what's the holdup?"

The officer replied, "The President is depressed, so he stopped his
motorcade and is threatening to douse himself with gasoline and set himself
on fire. He says no one believes his stories about why we went to war in
Iraq, or the worsening deficit and economy, or that his tax cuts will help
anyone except his wealthy friends. So we're taking up a collection for him."

The lobbyist asks, "How much have you got so far?

The officer replies, "About forty gallons, but a lot of folks are still
siphoning."

I realize this is an attempt at humor...and the joke was funny. However, I am disgusted with the distasteful comments especially when my fellow countrymen are fighting and dying for people we do not even know. I hope that if I were faced with the same circumstances as the Iraqi people ... that a man like the "PRESiDENT OF THE UNiTED STATES OF AMERiCA", President George W. Bush and the men and women of our Armed Forces, were covering my ass.You are so quick to criticize this man .You, not only, disrespect him... you disrespect those that are paying the highest price for "your" freedom. People... freedom isn't free. Maybe next time you will give your ccomments some thought before you so carelessly put them in front of the whole world to see. Unless, of course, you sympathize with those tyrannical bastards who murder coalition soldiers in addition to their own people, daily. You have no idea what its like to live under a murderess bastard
like Saddam. Maybe you'd like to give it a try.You do not have the BALLS! Yes I am a vet. I am a proud vet. I'm proud that my children have a chance for a future. It was written along time ago that "United We Stand & Divided We Fall". As I see it... selfish personal feelings are what pulls at the thread that binds this country together. We do not have to agree with everybody. We should at least agree to disagree. It is the beauty of being an American. Comments such as those posted here... if spoken in most Middle Eastern countries, would, no doubt, result in execution and would really cut down on one's chat room time.

I personally do not like what is going on.
I will stand by the decisions of my President.

Wannafreak here:
Is that the very best that you can do, my dear? It sure is easy for you to "say" that you had written "this big long reply" to my brother's post... and then not post it as my brother was writing from my account and because of that, it is not worth your time. Anyone can "say" that. You wrote nothing of the like is probably closer to the truth. You than proceed to in-validate any lagitimacy (hypothetically assuming that there was any) to your dillusional blog by resorting to a bash of his presumed income or lack there of. Give me a fricken break! I suppose that next you will start calling our dead mother names and ranting about how "stupid we are" Yah yah yah... i know... your dad can beat up our dad, right? Grow, the fuck, up! For the love of Christ!
What you have replied with was equal to a pile of dog shit. What my brother's post lacked was the option to use SPELL CHECK!!! Nothing more. He wrote from his heart and from his experience. He was generous in his efforts to share his views with others in hopes of bringing some insight to those with an open mind. I am extremely proud of him and his post. As for you.... why don't you go take some little kid's candy or kick the neighbors cat or something comparably usless. You are not quite ready to leave the world social retardation . Maybe the intellectual world the internet provides is simply not for you.

OK, this is getting too weird. Wannafreak, do you have multiple personalities? Or did someone hack your account?

I'm going to name this Lam's Theorem, since I've mentioned the phenomenon once before: Whenever you see someone in the forums flipping out and insulting people, look to the left: you'll see that person has a maximum of ten posts lifetime, and usually fewer than five.

This is a humor board... right? Humor... remember? Funny. Laughing. Ha ha sort of humor.

You laughed at the joke. Fine. You took offense because people won't kiss the president's ass? I respect our troops. And support them. I don't need to support a war in order to support our troops. I support saving their lives from a war that I don't see as completely unavoidable.

Yes indeed, people died for me in order for me to have the freedom to live in America. Funny, they also died for the freedom I have to bitch about America as well. Sort of a double edged sword, but there it is.

Its HUMOR. In a HUMOR forum. Therefore it might be biting and edgy and maybe not to your liking, but to blast people for not being patriotic over a joke? Please.

Well I got a very good chuckle and saw the humor in the idea that Bush has an interest in covering anyone's ass. I also see the humor in how some people think that a title demands respect and admiration.

No matter how big the font...no matter how many capital letters you use in the title of President of the United States, he (Dubya) has not earned one ounce of respect from me and deserves every bit of criticism that he gets.

Ok, honey, while you are untwisting your knickers and taking a breath, I'd like to remind you that this is AMERICA. And I can hate that dumb ass in the whitehouse all I want and still send care packages to the brave men and women fighting this idiotic dumb ass war and the two can and are mutually exclusive.

So, you might want to realize, while you are having your personal, in my opinon, assinine coniption fit right here in front of God and everyone that your opinion is outnumbered at least 10 to 1. Does that not tell you something????

Maybe next time you want to pipe in with some rant, you'll knock the font size down and chat like the rest of us.

Lily

I don't usually comment in political thread but this was just too funny to pass.

Did you miss the fact that those "fellow countrymen" were sent into war by a series of calculated lies?

How about Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton... or good old General Grant... they all held the same office.

Nope, most of us tried to protect those soldiers by keeping them from being sent to another Vietnam and are working hard to bring them home in airline seats rather than body bags.

Yup, we do have to speak with one voice.. so join us. Or are you the kind of person who puts Halliberton profits over American lives. {cuts both ways}

Hey, I'm from Texas. Dubya was doing coke right up until he ran for Governor. He's still tripping. Yes, this is a humour area so I can say he will go down in history as a joke....a deadly bad joke. The funny thing is some people still follow his comedy act. Poor bastards!
