my psychiatrtst told me today- rich men make the rules- to cya.

They have laws protecting renters.....look them up online or call fair housing board....in some states...renters have more rights than owners....

ferryman777 -> RE: Greed!!!!! (3/14/2007 10:15:21 AM)

Yes, renters DO have rights; you are so very correct, very correct.

However, envoke your rights.......eviction. Power cutoff.....all manner of nasties.

Yes, yes, envoke your rights; they can't do that stuff, to me, says you.....oh, yes they can. And; they will and do.

Theory is one thing, reality is quite another.

Luckily the new owner and I are talking.  Thank god.  I have some resources thanks to some shrewd moves before. I dont really want to play hardball...when that energy can elevate me.

just funny how a wad a $50 bills changed the tone of the matter.

*sighs*

Yup, money talks!
With all the mortgage plans they have out there these days, most people could *own* their own place for what they're paying in monthly rent!
Why pay rent to someone and never see any money when you can own your own place?
It just doesn't make sense, it's like flushing money down the toilet every month!
If you're currently renting talk to a Realtor or Mortgage broker and see what programs they have available for you.
Buying instead of renting is one of the best things you can do financially.

Bingo.  I am on it. Monday I see the mortgage lady. I dont want to sound like a snob, but -- in the local area..you can get a tenant- BUT- likely they will trash teh place.

I flashed the cash- paid him x amount. We have a dilogue.  contrary to what some think, one can still own a home and reiceve some govt benfits.
I tossed and turned thining - is this new place really teh right move..one sinking boat into another. My family goes back 7 generations to the area. I could play hardball- BUT- it is wasted ernrgy.

The apartment hopping thingee is for 20 yr olds.... not older folks. Just my opinion.

Choose ur battles carefully. :-)

What a terrible way to start your day, pahunkboy!
You do not share all of the circumstances, but there
are laws to protect renters.  If you were locked out
without notice you can call local law enforcement
to mediate the situation and then take your landlord
to court.

Thanks hun.  The landlord will learn that in this small town- you yield to local customs. I have 10 Great aunts- all with 2,3,4th cousins, as do many people who were among the 1st setlers. [moms side is from PA]

Any- should he take out his big city ways out on a local boy or gal, he has no idea the amount of pressure he migth face. [from their kin]

be that as it may- i choose positive energy to move my life forward. i dont want a feude-

the law around here is very hardlined. ---most adults have had a taste of it.

i wont seek revfenge- ill simply try to work things out with him as best i can...till i can get out of this rathole hell.

hugs to ya!!!
