Rooms for rent, ambassadorships for sale, and not even the nominee yet...

Hillary Donor Expects Favor In Return
A South Florida billionaire and longtime Clinton financial supporter has given Hillary thousands of dollars and says he expects the New York senator to assign him to an ambassadorial post if she becomes president.
Jorge Perez, a real estate developer who appears on Forbes list of 400 richest Americans, is an important friend to have in Republican-dominated Miami, a densely populated area of a crucial state during presidential elections.
A loyal Clinton family friend, Perez is worth more than $1.8 billion and he has been very generous to Bill and Hillary over the years. He has donated nearly $30,000 to politicians in the last decade with the biggest chunks going to the senator and her husband.
Bill rewarded his rich supporter, who is an art connoisseur, by appointing him to The National Council on the Arts in 1994 and publicly acknowledging him during various Cuban Independence Day celebrations in Miami because Perez is of Cuban descent.

The billionaire has made it clear that he fully expects Hillary to do the same if she moves back into the White House. Being named to some kind of ambassador post is just one idea thrown out by Perez, who says he has made so much money that the important thing now is “legacy.” Evidently, this rich Floridian believes that , for the right price, he can get anything from Hillary.

Nope. It's being renovated, and since Halliburton got the job via no-bid contract, there have been a few delays and cost overruns.

Sure! Why not?
"And our new Ambassador...........to *IRAQ* is..........."

Let me see if I have this right, this guy makes $1.4 billion so that makes him... "respectable?"
Has he actually "accomplished" anything in his life other than to accumulate massive wealth? I bet he thinks of himself as ..."a leader."
And "Chairman of the board of directors of....." doesn't count.

For the right price, anybody can get anything from anybody. So, what is your point. Arnold and the goventator's post with Warren Buffet ????? Arnold being close friends with the Bush family; married to the Kennedy clan.

Why is this so unique to Clinton and Hillary.

They are all, ALL for sale. Perhaps Ross Periot may not have been.
Any one remember him?

There's a police investigation going on in the UK at the moment ("cash for honours" as its been dubbed), which centres around the Labour and past Tory governments and the happy coincidences that people who donated large sums to those parties subsequently received appointments to the House of Lords.

Selling honours for cash has been a specific offence in UK law for a long while now, after one prime minister actually had an office in London where they could be bought. The prime minister remains the person who appoints however, so these donations are being seen as nothing different to having opened a modern day retail outlet for the same purpose.

Its disgusting to be frank, that patronage is what grants position here - the house of lords is our revising chamber and so also influences laws remember. But then, wealth in the first place is power and no one gets to the top of the greasy pole without having wealth of his own or access to anothers, in which second case there is always a quid pro quo.

corruption. no end to it.   house building permits scandal unfolding in Chicago. contractor- "bought" permits, and approval,,,, floutinmg teh very laws meant to protect the public. recall the porch collapse a few years ago- where a few died. case in point. even after that- now- many city workers are busted for bribes.

Cook County IL, has more litigation per capita then anywhere else on earth. Go figure.
