ORIGINAL: StellaByStarlite I used to tabletop RP, a long time ago, when I could handle staying up until the wee hours a bit better. The WhiteWolf games, like VtM and whatnot. I have no clue what's new in the gaming world these days. The new thing is lots of indie games, it seems. Most of them crap by my reckoning. The White Wolf games (VtM, MtA, WtO, WtA, CtD, KotE), particularly the old ones, along with those from Atlas Games (Unknown Armies, Ars Magica), remain favourites for me. That, and freeform games from settings I like, e.g. Wheel of Time, or Sword of Truth. One doesn't grow out of these games, one grows into them. Life experience adds to the game experience. Of course, it can sometimes be hard to get people together, which is why me and nephandi sometimes use this wonderful invention of collaboration, the Internet, for what we'd usually do around the table. Play by mail, forums, chat, and so forth. One of our players (in the regular group) has a 30 minute drive each way, so playing via chat or a conference call will add 1 hour of good gaming, if not more (considering how it tends to limit the amount of socializing before the game starts). We've been trying to get people together for various online RP bits that would do better with more players, both regular RP and kink-positive RP (i.e. regular RP, but the chars can be kinky, and one doesn't gloss over all the details of it, though the level of detail is dependent on what kind of game one is running).
