After almost 3 years of being with Mistress daily I have finally figured out that organizing Her house to my way of thinking simply drives both of us bananas.  The spray paint can live on top of the fridge along side the storage bags and WD40.  lol I give!!   But!  She can locate bras, shorts and t-shirts without digging through 5 drawers!  When I rearranged Her kitchen I was getting phone calls nightly, not all of them pleasant lol.  Lesson learned.

As in all things, it's give and take.  Don't expect him to simply understand and accept your ideas on where things "belong".  Instead pay attention to where he puts things, find that pattern to his thinking and work with it.  If he's constantly digging through dresser drawers looking for a pair of shorts, start there.  I find myself racing to put Mistress' laundry away to prevent Her from "hiding" Her favorite t-shirt from Herself.  lol.  When you see him taking his boots off...smile and offer to put them away for him.  We learn best from observing others AND it reminds him that you are doing it FOR him.  :)

May the force be with you *glares at the wrenchs beside the toaster and sighs*

Try one room at a time to give him time to adjust. It will keep you and him both from driving each other crazy.

With the last move, my Sir didn't have time to unpack the most important room in the house to him...the kitchen.  Every other room in the house has always had the same order...organized and neat.  He left it to me, which put a lot of pressure on me to make him happy.  As cooking has always been his way to relax, he hates having to ask where anything is or not be able to put his hands on it immediately.  I put post it notes on each cabinet and drawer that guided him as to what types of things were in each.  He only had to ask me for something once, and it turned out that it was in a box of dining room stuff still unpacked.  Of course, I had the distinct advantage of having seen his prior kitchen setups and gotten an idea of his organizational mindset.

Just an update: applied some of the advice given, and moved things around to accomadate His habits and wants (for example, got Him a leather 'boyfriend pillow' that sits under the coffee table when not in use, and He pulls it out about six inches to sit in front of the tv to play video games, and there is also a small table made from a cable spool that He can pull out to put His drink, ashtray, food, etc. on while He watches TV and plays video games...He loves it, and is a lot more comfortable.

i moved the dishes to a more comfortable place for Him (higher up, more easily found), and put them all together...food was put almost all together, easy to look through as they are pull out drawers...He has gotten into the habit of putting His keys on the hook by the door that i described, and the wallet on the shelf above, and it is now very comfortable for Him, and He never has trouble finding His keys and wallet anymore!

i drew up a map of the house with each shelf, drawer, cabinet, and corner that things were in, and showed it to Him. He doesn't look at it anymore, but rarely has trouble finding things anymore, and the other day, He couldn't find something, but calmly told me 'I can't find my P.T. uniform. Please find it.' Then He sat down and waited, and i found it ten minutes later. No fuss, no anger; all calm and patient...He just watched tv and trusted i would find it!

i am very happy with how things are going, and He seems much more relaxed with the way things are organized. The house still has some messy spots that i haven't worked on (like arranging the art room to fit His artistic needs and wants), but the living room and kitchen were the most important rooms to work on, and they are not set up to His satisfaction, and thus to mine.

Thank you all for the advice! It really did help.
