I would have to say that I get most mail from sub/switches that live out of my state or the country.  What have been some of your ways to enjoy a long distance situation?

Good morning,
I've in doing the long distance thing for almost 2 years. What has helped us is:
1)Seeing each other when possible
2) Talking on the phone daily even if it's "hi, I'm busy today talk to you tomorrow"
3) instant messaging
4) Webcams, just to be able to see the person when we're talking. Also other things... [8|]
5) Date night

I really like date night, we watch the same show on TV or on the web. It's fun. I also like the fact that we had to learn to talk to each other and express ourselves verbally instead of with body language. We spend most of our relationship talking. But we didn't start long distance, which I think might make a difference.

Ive been trying a few of the things you've mentioned.  But all at the beginning stages.  Not sure if it will have staying power.  But time will tell.

When we were in the longdistance mode, we added things like playing online games like gin on yahoo to the list previously mentioned. And we did that while being on the phone or using webcams. Even being 9 timezones away from each other this helped a lot to calm the frustration of not being able just to come on over.

Somewhat happy fact (I don't remember where I read this) that long distance relationships have the same success rate as relationships that aren't. It's hard, and you'll miss them. But there is nothing like seeing 'em in person. Just keep working on it, you’ll make it. [:)]

Angel and I did long distance realy happily for 7 months. We spoke on the phone every night for a while, then every other night when he had classes again.  We played online games together, read the same books so we could discuss them, watched the same movies on occasion and we made plans for me to visit a few times.
We chatted online every night even if it was just a hello or a quick update of one anothers day. I sent him cards just for the hell of it.  When sone of s was driving, the other would call and keep them company.
Even when he was traveling abroad for a few weeks and had no net access unless he was at an internet cafe (1 a week) we still emailed.

If there is a conversational  connection, it wil work out pretty easily.  If you cant talk, if you cant have a conversation and stay interested... it wont.

W/we did all those things and they all helped to keep the connection happening. Dom/mes can also set specific tasks for their subs ... from writing a journal, making a rainy day envelope or box (to fill with mementos, little notes etc to brighten a rainy day) to doing something a little naughty and taking pics to prove it. Obviously you need to keep in mind public decency and safety and not ask anything dangerous, but tasks can be a lot of fun for both Dom/me and sub. For example, one task I set for My boy was to go into nominated public buildings, go into the toilet, jerk off and thank Me out loud for being allowed to cum and then take pics of the toilet and his cum. he had huge fun doing this ... till he got to Parliament House in Melbourne, got followed into the toilets by the security guard and wimped out LOL! Then again, I also gave him the task of going up the highest building there and taking pics from the top ... something I'd never be able to do as I get bad vertigo. I loved those pics though! So be creative and the challenge will keep both of you connected. Best of luck
