I'd like to take my Mistress shopping for fetish clothing (corsets, lingerie, harnesses & perhaps more) that she'd like to have, along with leather impact toys and a variety of other BDSM toys (including insertables) which might catch her fancy.  She's particularly expressed an interest in looking at CBT items, Butt Plugs, electrical devices (especially a remote controlled Butt Plug), and from reading between the lines, there are other things she doesn't want to tell me about she'd also like to shop for.  If there's a place that sells a humbler, I know she'd like to see one of those if possible.  Places with a wide selection will be important to find or else several places that carry specific kinds of items that cover the entire spectrum would be a helpful alternative.

She prefers to shop in person where she can try things on, check the feel of the item, test them out, etc. as opposed to shopping via the net.  For those in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex, what are your favorite shops (and locations please if you will) to purchase items like these that you'd recommend I take her to?

All replies with either personal experiences or knowledge of a shop's mix of toy and apparel inventory are greatly appreciated.

Our fav is Shades Of Grey in Oaklawn. Great folks there!
http://www.shadesofgrey.com

Another place, Leather By Boots, used to be great when it was locally owned. Im not sure about it now since Leather Masters took it over.

Damn, I miss Dallas.

Thanks for the reply Elegant, it is much appreciated.   From browsing Leather Masters catalog, it appears as though they might have a lot of variety for Mistress to choose from.  Unfortunately, the link for Shades of Grey didn't come up, so they may no longer be in business.  I'll check the yellow pages to see if there's a listing for them and call to see if they're still open.

Thanks again!

Johnny sold Shades o' Grey to Tod, the manager of the bar shop, last fall. I'm hearing rumors that stock is kind of low.

cheers

Johnny sold Shades Of Grey due to a illness in the family, still a good shop and if you can find what you want they will order it for you.

As mentioned before, also try Leather Masters Dallas if Shades stock is low.   They recently moved from Oak Lawn area to Main St.

Heres a link:  http://www.leathermasters.com/home.htm

Btw, Shades IS still open and doing business in the same Oak Lawn location - right behind Crossroads Market.

Have fun!

Thanks to all for the info on Shades still being open.  Will make a point of putting it on the list of places we may want to drop by, especially if it's on the Oak Lawn that crosses 35E just north of downtown.  If so, from looking at the map & directions to Leather Master's (using Commerce to get to it's location just east of downtown), it should be easy for us to hit both places as we'll be coming from the northern suburbs, most likely via 35E.

Hey, btw...

Been a bit since I've been in Shades of Grey (outside of  the bar location) but talking to some locals, it appears they ARE having a tough time of it and there isn't much there in terms of stock (I believe this has also been mentioned previously in this thread) so LeatherMasters may be your best bet even though it IS located in Deep Ellum (YUK!).  For a town this size, it's a bit sad but hey - Get your Bibles and bingo cards out everybody!

Good luck.

Thanks for the "heads up" joy on Grey's stock levels.  Sounds as though we should pass it by unless we don't find what we want elsewhere.  As to the Deep Ellum, after living in the Detroit area for over 20 years, I'm not too concerned about anything I've yet to see since moving to the Dallas area.

Ok JIS on your advice in this thread I went to leathermasters this last week...and lets just say I now need someone to try out all the toys I bought there. Given you suggested the place how about next time I'm in the Dallas area I break them in on you!

BTW...I felt like a kid in a candy store when I walked in and walked out almost a grand lighter on the wallet.=]

Over on Mockingbird is Electrique Boutique....forgive me if I got the spelling wrong. They have a naughty selection of clothing, stockings, shoes, boots....I found a corset there that I love, and I'm not an easy size to fit. I'd definitely recommend them. I also picked up a wonderful pair of boots that are very high heeled, and yet quite comfortable to wear, also not an easy combination to come by. And the prices are quite reasonable. All in all, really great, fun, slutty wear.

Thanks a to all who recommended Leather Masters!   I did eventually take Mistress there and we both were very impressed!  The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful during our visits (we've even been back a 2nd time and the neighborhood wasn't a problem for us).

The quantity of BDSM items they carried was sooo extensive that it was something of an overwhelming sensory experience for me!  I thought the quality of leather items and the price for them was very competitive.  I saw many bargains to be had, including the leather corset that Mistress purchased for herself.  WOOHOO... VERY HOT!

Mistress, well Mistress... to say the least, Mistress had a wonderful visit to Leather Masters, smiling from ear to ear the entire time we were there.   Don't tell anyone, but I think she soaked her panties while we were there she was so turned on by all that she saw.  As for me, I spent a lot of time with my face turning red while we were there, including when she chose a collar for me to wear; a very nice one I might add (love how it feels when she buckles it around my neck)!

She also picked out a soft leather full body harness I absolutely love that makes me feel incredibly submissive when she has me it wear around the house with my collar (god, she even picked out an attachable butt plug for it).  She had the very helpful salesman adjust and fit it to me, offering to add more snaps later if it stretched or loosened after playing in it (something we took him up on a couple days later).  I don't know how many shades of red I turned while he adjusted it, but I'm fairly certain it was more than a few.  LOL!

Please don't misunderstand me, he was very professional, but Mistress was having a lot of fun discussing the finer points of how it should be adjusted as he was working.  It was partly in the context that she'd just picked out a ball stretcher for me before that mentioning how large they were (my testicles) and she'd wanted to make certain the stretcher was large enough for them, so comments were made about the size of the ring on the harness and it being interchangeable as it (the harness) was being adjusted to fit me.  Needless to say, having my balls discussed in that manner, added to my embarrasment, but also perhaps to the bloodflow to my groin (probably competing with the flow to the skin on my face).

Anyway, I would highly recommend the shop to anyone visiting Dallas who was looking for leather goods or play items and these are great folks who understand their products as well as how they're used.  So I really like to thank all who recommended it!

As a side note to joyinslavery, I'd have responded to your question about this posted in one of the threads in the "Ask a Mistress Forum", but didn't want to be off-topic, especially as there was more than I had the time available to try and respond to at that particular moment.

Nothing personal,
But you know nothing about leather or bondage gear.
They sell shit. Its Veg Tan leather that is dyed and not burnished, beveled or even treated.
You got taken.

Its nasty clicker press leather crap like the shit from overseas. You wasted your money...and those that know quality...well...you did not make a wise choice.

Leather is my business and I have been in their store. They have a very low standard of quality. Most dont know the differance of good leather, and bad leather. I feel its rotten to take advantage of people like you that dont know this business. I am not in the habbit or refering others to the competition...but go to Mr S the next time. I aint trying to sell me...just dont buy crap.

And they sell total crap.

I want you to understand that this is my opinion. Not a refelection of how I feel about you as a person. I base these statements from a professional view.

Egosum,
Let me put it this way, while it's true I'm not a leather expert, compared to many places, and the price we payed, the quality was indeed quite good.  I didn't say it was the "best" that could be made, although it was likely the "best" available to us in Dallas at the time.  I felt we got bargains and very good service compared to other places I've shopped in both the Dallas and Detroit area markets for items of the type we purchased.  That would also include numerous items which have been purchased via the internet over the past 5 to 7 years.  I have indeed seen and purchased higher quality leather items from independent artisans who typically don't carry an inventory and only do custom work.  The one's I'm aware of do not have a storefront such as LeatherMasters does and aren't even in the Dallas area (which doesn't mean others don't exist, just that I'm not aware of them).

Thank you for your input and opinions on the quality of the leather items we purchased which you've not actually seen.  I'd also like to add that Mr S doesn't have a store located in Dallas where Mistress could shop in person; a requirement I posted at the beginning of this thread.  If you really wanted to be helpful, a referral to a shop located in Dallas which is still in business (I saw your post that your shop has closed) at the time I posted this thread which carries the quality items of which you speak would have been far more helpful.

Very fair response.
Wish I could have been more helpful, but I am abit off from the loss of a friends business. A month of this has taken its toll.

What really matters is that you are happy with what you have, and you sound as if you are. For that I am pleased.

You bet! Give 'em a try....aaaannnnndddd, if you're in the mood for Mexican food after shopping...go out the door to the left...I won't name names, but just around the building is one of the best Tex-Mex places in the area. Try the Steak Argentine (if you're not a vegan....it's amazing!)

I did not say give them a try...read what I fuckin wrote. What they sell sucks.
I was giving the respect due to pixelslave for the response he gave.
It was respectful and made a very good point to his opinion...I respect that.

They sell shit, and the market is limited in Dallas, so there is a limited selection.
If you want to sell garbage...keep in your family.
The people of Dallas deserve better.
