thanks for allowing me to post here.  Just concerned how Doms would feel about playing with a sub who has had heart surgery.  Whether they would be turned off by the scars on the chest and arms?  Would they also be concerned about the sub's health even though she has been told it is okay to resume normal activities <smile>

Well, I'm not a Dom, but....I've got a congenital heart defect called mitral valve regurgitation. At some point, I will probably have to have surgery, but I'm waiting in the wings while they test out replacing the valves without open heart surgery, but I digress.

As long as you're open about it, and healthy enough to play, I don't see any reason that a Dom would not want you based on scars. Your scars are a part of you now...they physically show a journey and a triumph. If you don't mind them, why should they.

BTW, I would stay away from any elctro play...no matter what anyone says. But that's just me.

No worries. Most people have baggage, yours is just displayed on the outside.

And, yep...my Dr. said it should only be a few years until it's ready to go. We'll see. For now, though, it doesn't even bother me. It sounds all important and deadly, but it hasn't gotten in my way one iota. Again, we'll see.

I hope I was of some help.

Your scars prove you're a survivor! Wear them proudly!

And, scars are just.. scars. Chances are any adults that are over 30 have some kind of scars, even if it's just that annoying chicken pox scar that feels like a crater, but really is more imagination than anything else. People break bones, have car accidents, pick booboos when they're kids, get bit, cut themselves cooking, get paper cuts, and can't get that d***ed eyelash out of the corner of their eye. People have scars. Some are internal, some are emotional, some are where they can be seen without clothes, some are where they can be seen with clothes. Some of us have birthmarks, which may or may not be worse than we perceive, some have moles that (really!) should be seen by a doctor, and some have had their appendix explode in a most embarrassing or almost fatal way. All leave scars. All mark us as people.

If a dom is so shallow that they can't get beyond the scar showing what a fighter and a really healthy person you are and continue to be, they don't deserve you.

I agree with the others it is a sign that you overcame a life and death situation and that you are a suvivor many people I know regardless of lifestyle would be proud to be with some one that had the courage to do that and still feel proud of themselves, if you want a doms opinion tho you might want to post a similar post in the Master forum and you many be surprised what answers you get. I don't beleive any of them would have a problem with it.

As long as you are taking care of yourself now it should not be a problem to find a Dom for you. If someone is not interested because of the scars or the idea of you being too fragile then they are not what you need anyhow. Better to wait for someone who really appreciates who you are.

My daughter had openheart surgery at 10 months and will always have the scars from it. It was a little bit of an issue for her when she was in her early teens, but mostly she is proud of them. Spanklette, we are also waiting for the new valves to be ready to go. When she had her surgery in 1991 we were told she would need another in 3-5 years. Well still no surgery even though her pulmonary valve is pretty much gone, but her cardiologist says wait the few years.
