Greetings Wiplash, Easy, peasy to do what you wish. Did you see the movie '300'? Remember the oh-so-ethereal red-headed slave girl and her diaphanous "tunic"? Instead of a clasp on the shoulder, two short ties wrapped together in a quick release knot should look just right. .. Further, if you made it into two separate pieces, only just barely sewing together the edges that meet under the arm, you would get a very nice slit up both sides. I can't promise you plunging decolletage though, that would probably need to be 4 separate pieces confined with a belt or judicious use of selvage on all edges that will hang so you do not get creep/stretching of the fibers....of course, if you use a polyester or a finely woven silk, that might not be a problem, but you would still have to finish the edges with a seam or rolled edge which is a PITA.....not a good thing. :) Luck! p.s. Use $1 p/yd Walmart fabric, they have a LOT of sheer stuff and it will drape more beautifully than pretty much anything else you can get cheap anywhere else. Just don't plan on dying it, no doubt it will be made of polyester and polyester just don't dye. :)
