Reflection

I am only human
Fallible indeed
I wonder if I'll ever know
Exactly what I need
I hear flowers singing
I see music glide
Strange how our emotions
Take our senses for a ride
I want strength and purpose
I'd like to plant a seed
But I am only human
Fallible indeed

I pretend I'm in a place
I've never been before
I feel touched by angel's wings
Walking toward the shore
I touch the stars on crisp clear nights
I hold them in my hand
I worry for so many things
As I strive to understand
I cry to see others hurt
By minds so small and mean
Still I am only human
Fallible indeed

I understand I'm not alone
There's guidance to be found
I say less than I intend
I struggle with no sound
I dream of true serenity
That problems can not sway
I try hard to achieve this
Learning more each day
I hope someday it will suffice
That God has met my needs
Yet I am only human
Fallible indeed
