Sorry! I know tis a dumb question.... but I keep seeing it, and for the life of me I can't figure out what it means... I am nearly certain when I learn I will smack my head in "DUHment"........

I mean... aside from any Universities :-P I believe the subject is a person....... *shrugs*

Actualy tos's is still being violated, because slang is not technically allowed either, the mods just don't police it very well.

Actually, it's not.  Threads *about* children are not allowed.  The mere mentioning of the word 'child' or any of the many colorful terms people use to refer to them, do not violate the TOS.

It's a measure taken to ensure that overzealous jurisdictions have no valid standing to shut down the site, sieze the hardware and assets of the site owners and throw them in jail.

it does also help to cut down on visits by those that actively search the web for those particular words, it is a post filter thingy used by sensible mods on other sites i am familiar with. occasionally it does weird things, i recall an innoccuous post i once made elsewhere containing the word "sniggering" and the filter on that site insisted on finding the word in the middle, i think it took me quite a while to work out what was wrong with my post!
