Interesting. I wonder about how true it is, though, overall (and I am not criticizing your comment, you are not responsible for how any journalist decides to research and report their news) But- different manufacturers do make clothings sized differently, and I wonder how extensively this was maybe taken into account in this study. In the USA, for instance, some of the women's clothing that is really "high-end" tend to purposely be sized smaller than what might be consider "the norm", because some manufacturers seem to think this kind of ego-flattering is warranted, and entices more females to buy their wares. Thus a size 10 at K-Mart, might be a size 6 at Neiman-Marcus, etc. for a dress or pants, for example. It's possible the same principle is in operation in the lingerie world (except in reverse), but I am not sure. In any case, it's kinda interesting anyway, IMO. - Susan

Their cups are smaller than everyone else's so that women think they are a larger cup size than what they actually are. In other words, if you normally wear a B cup, VS's B cup is way small on you and now you wear a C cup. So, naturally women are going to buy the brand name that puts them at a size C instead of a B.

Went shopping about a year or ago or so and my sizes were too big.. i swear i would have fit into a size 2... but i refused... refused to by a size 2 - as its just ridiculous! i'm (or was) a size 6. the mystery is solved

I bet this is a weight issue. Britain is the most obese nation in Europe and not far behing the USA in obesity. As for Holland and Denmark having a large % of D cups that could be because the overall size of Dutch and Danish women are bigger tha British. The Dutch are the tallest nation in the world, the average height of women is 5' 8" while the average height of British women is 5' 4" yet British women have a 20% lead over Dutch women in the D cup stakes. Danish women are also very tall in comparison to Brits. The smallest women in Europe are from the latin countries, France, Spain and Italy so Italian women having small boobs is no surprise since Italian women are small compared to Brits and dwarfs compared to the Dutch and Scandinavians.

My lil' sister, Katie, had a breast reduction. They were hurting her back. She is much happier now. It was only partly covered by insurance (maybe these days it would be better, though, this was several years ago). Her hubby was mildly disappointed when she had this done (but he understood) My other sister (who is pretty flat) always envied her, but she told her: "You wouldn't be so envious, if you had to live with it every day." I am sort of "in-between" extremes on either end of any "scale"(a 36-38C-D) - Susan

i guess that's a blessing for me - my heavy boobs don't put any weight on my back though i have thought about a breast reduction before. yet the men i've met (including Daddy) love the natural hanging boob look - keyword here natural. since they are my best assets, i'm keeping them.

It also depends on the cut of the garment - even the underwear. Plus the sizing is different to the USA - so a size 6 in the USA is a size 8 here - roughly last I checked. That is why it is better to go on the inch size rather than the dress size of a garment. Peace and Rapture

This is about cup size - which has nothing to do with weight. You can be a skinny as KM and still have large breasts. The A,B,C,D is everything to do with the cup, not the size around the person. That will be the inch total. You may find it is more a childbaring thing than weight as well, depending how a country deals with breast feeding and contraception, as these play important rolls in determining breast size.
