I actually gained sensation, but everyone is different. I'm not sure they'd get in the way at work. I mean the first week you might knock them and wince, but I found that there are things that I did to my nipples on a regular basis that caused me more pain than the piercings (mine are 8 weeks old now).

greetings opensoul,

mine have actually greatly increased my sensitivity. i usually keep them from getting in the way by wearing bras with a little bit of padding, so that i can't feel it as much if i brush up against something.

i have a quick question my fiancee has one of her nipples pierced it has been about a year now and i was wondering could she change from a barbell to a horseshoe or would i cause her piercing to migrate?

My breasts are 38DD. I had no problem with my nipples healing up; took about 6 months before I considered them completely healed, enough to change jewelry styles, etc. I was careful with their care: I washed them daily with Provon soap in the shower, and soaked them several times a day in sea salt solution, an actual soaking, not just the saline spray. I got little shot glasses, mixed the salt solution, and sat with them capped over my nipples for 5-10 minutes to remove any secretions before turning the rings. I washed my hands before handling my nipples, and my husband did not suck them for the first 6 weeks.

The piercing was a brief sharp pain, that was sort of pleasant; my husband was standing behind me, holding my hair back, while I leaned against his chest, so the piercing was sort of an intimate experience for us. I wore a bra night and day for the first couple of weeks, until the soreness diminished. The first couple of days, I was careful of how I moved around, but after that, my daily activities were not affected. I never had any infection or pus, just the normal clear lymph fluid that makes the crusties at the edges, and after a couple of weeks, that was mostly gone. I had rings done, but next time, I would choose barbells for better comfort, I think.

I did not lose any sensitivity in my nipples, as a matter of fact, the piercing made my nipples double in size, not due to any inflammation or anything, I believe it just increased the stimulation and blood flow to them. They stayed constantly erect, and the sight of them when I wore a tank top pretty much stopped traffic. I had to give them up when I had several hospital stays last year, and I miss them. When I am done with doctors, I plan to get them back again.

I had mine done in November and it fuuuking hurt!!!

i nearly kicked him in the head..but i am a wimp.. but even though i have large breasts there was not one bit of blood or any discomfort from the moment they were done till now ( 5mths)...the best piercing iv ever had...no infection or oozing.. but yes very erect nipples all the time, which is fun for my pupils on cold days!!!

I've had mine for about a year and it took them about three months for the soreness to go away, especially when something like a seatbelt swiped over them. The discharge stopped rather rapidly.

I still whack into door frames (clumsy) and it feels good to wear a sports bra (mine aren't as big as yours, 38 dd) and I used the stuff you get at Claire's when you get your ears pierced.

My piercer told me to wash them in the shower with antibacterial softsoap (it won't dry them out) and to not use Bactine or Neosporin on them (I don't remember why) so I got some of that stuff from Claire's that one would use for newly-pierced ears and poured a capful on each end of the bar while in the shower.

And oh. My piercer said for me to get bar jewelry since rings would have a tendency to rip the nipple and would take a hell of a lot longer to heal since I have biggish boobs. If you have rings, maybe change to bars. I've had no problems.

greetings...i have had my piercings in the nipples for about 8 years now...can remember a long heal time...but the seasalt soak is what works...take a coffee mug 3 tablespoons of seasalt and warm water and do each nipple in the mug for about 5 minutes 2 times a day...turn them often and use antibacterial soap on them in the shower...good luck..when they heal you can accommodate a nice triangle of string, chain, or whatever the boss requires...if you have the neither parts pierced...Master says i now whistle in the wind outside..smiles always twist

What's been the experience of men who've had their nipples piereced? Obviously we don't have the same issues with breast size or the need to wear bras as women do.

Mistress has said she'd like me to eventually have mine pierced and I'd like to know if I should expect the same healing time and problems as the women here have reported or if I'm likely to have less problems because of having the smaller breasts and nipples typical of men. Any experience or knowledge to share in this regard?

Wash with antibacteria soap and rinse with sea salt...Put a small amount of mixture in small glass, place nipple over top and switch for a few minutes....Had mine done 2 years ago and no problem....

Consider warm water sea salt soakings. Just put some sea salt in a plastic cup and fill with warm water. It will speed the healing process. Keept turning the rings every day.

As a body modification artisit I can say that the problem usually is an incorrect sized ring or piece of jewelry used. It can also be that the piercing is too deep or too shallow for your nipples. If it is too deep it will take a very long time to heal. If it is too shallow the ring will try to 'walk out' causing small tears constantly. With large breasts you need to remember that the weight and the size will cause them to move a lot more than smaller breasts. I would try a larger ring first (not gauge, actual size) and dont wear a bra made of nylon. Dont use a barbell until it is totally healed. There is not enough room for the nipple to expand.

I just took my rings out today. M and I talked about it a lot, and he missed being able to torture them the way he wanted to. It was sort of sad, but I do see his point. I asked him during play tonight if he regretted having me take them out, he told me he didn't...he could now do what he wanted and doesn't have to be as careful. We have decided to do lactation now, so hopefully we can find more fun things to do now, that we couldn't very easily while I had them. I hope that will make me not miss them a bit.

i had curved barbells in, never had a bit of problem. when i had them changed out to rings, the idiot girl chose ones that were too small, and the piercings started to migrate, so i had to take them out.

Sir and i have kicked around the thought of re-doing them, but i dont know, although i miss them terribly. i'm a nearlyD cup, and what i did was wear the sports bras 24/7 for a week or so, then i really didnt have any problems with healing.

after they've been removed, i've noticed i react a LOT faster to temperature changes (which Sir finds amusing) i havent lost anything in sensitivity either after the piercing or after the removal, the only difference being that the left nipple turns in a bit now. my daughter found that after she'd had a nipple piercing for about a year (she just got tired of it) her once inverted nipple stands out. so i guess everyone is different.

I have two male friends that had nipple piercings. One took them out after trying to deal with them for a year, the other took them out after trying to deal with them for two years. The one that was a year, the body was just rejecting them...the other was heavily into sport and kept getting hit during games which didn't help the healing process.

i'm happy - since i started using the h2ocean stuff as well as doing warm soaks more often, it's helped a lot. i've also had lots more luck lately with not getting them caught on things/having friction/etc. so they are doing MUCH better. crusties are almost all gone :) i am planning to go back in a few weeks and get them checked. :)

I've read all the posts and have a question to bring up. What about flat/inverted nipples?

I have what's classified as flat nipples, they don't "stand out" at all like most except during temperature changes, stimulation or arousal.

Currently they are pierced with 14 gauge, 9/16th Captive bead rings, doing soaks, washing and turning daily. The sensitivity is great and the nipples seem to be "standing up" more than they used to. They were both pierced on the 22nd (10 days ago).

The actual piercing pain level was very intimate between my husband and I, the distraction of him talking to me and my looking at the television helped. The most painful part was the putting the stubborn little captive bead on. I have worn a bra day and night since the piercing, that helps with the issue of my having large breasts and the rings knocking anything (that really hurts!)

The edges as mentioned in other posts feel like they are "pulling" some whereas the centers don't really hurt any more. The rings seem to not want to flip at all, they want to stay down totally now. They also seem to be pretty noticable under my clothes unless I'm wearing a padded bra. That's because of the large captive bead on them.

Now that you have all the (likely rambling) history on them...I question, should I change to barbells? Straight or curved? Also, should I try changing them out this soon?

Justbambi,

You should leave in whatever your piercer put in. There's only 10 days old. You're not supposed to change them (like for fun) for at least 3-4 months. If you have a problem with the healing, then maybe go back to your piercer and ask them if barbells would be better, but if you've got rings in now, and you don't have a problem, then don't mess with them.

So maybe this sounds insane to ask...it hurts like hell if the rings are flipped up at all. The only way they're "happy" is if they are in the down position. Is that what's supposed to happen?

I don't have rings so I don't know what to say about this. Maybe it would be best to call and ask your piercer.

I have had mine done for about 4 years. I had the left one done first and that took forever to heal, the right one was done a few weeks later and that healed really quickly. At first i had rings but when i switched to bars the left one healed soon after. When i do wear rings i also ensure that they are turned up in my bra or the left one starts playing up again.
