When i was in elementry school my mother told me about

"blowing out anothers candle to make theirs glow brighter"

i think she was explaining why some one was being mean to me... i dunno.. i just remember the whole candle idea.

I think it's as simple as the fact that some people are just assholes.

I was going to blame it on lack of compassion, but this works!

I've found there is a nice balance between not putting up with bullshit and doing so in a classy way.  I will admit I don't understand people that seek the bullshit out to criticize it.  (I'm not calling you or yours bullshit, I promise.  I'm just musing.)  It's better left alone unless it is thrown in your face.

MissSCD -> RE: Rudeness (4/16/2007 8:05:17 PM)

A lot of times it is people who are angry over a particular situation and something triggers an outburst.    Some people are plain out assholes.
I am in the middle somewhere. LOL

I think we tend to get what we focus upon. I remember when I was a server I would come into contact with hundreds of people a day, and once in a while I would encounter a real dickhead, a rude crude meanspirited psycho. I realized that these types were not the "usual", in fact they were rare. I can choose to focus on people like this, and miss all the nice wonderful people that inhabit my existence...It really is a choice, a decision.
