Is there a cost-effective HIV test that doesn't include needles?

I don't think I have HIV, nor do I have a place that's likely I've gotten it, but I know it's good to keep up and test.  However, I'm strongly, strongly phobic to needles siphoning blood.. it's my one greatest phobia, by a land slide.  I literally fear it more than death.  This isn't to say I -can't- go through with the blood draw for the normal test that I know about, but, considering I'm relatively sure I don't really -need- to get tested, it's making it really hard to justify going in to myeslf.
So, bottom line, I'm basically going to go in for a test to keep up with my health 'n such, but I'd really like to find an alternative to a blood draw for this test.

Rapid Oral HIV Test

All it requires is an oral swab.

For me it is the most important exception, a Law, which has to submit also a lady, if it liked to possess property, evenly submissiven slaves, or already in the possession is. And your property on sticking on diseases to test itself, in particular AIDS, hepatitis, and desises by having sex(i don't know the word in english).Only in such a way is me material possible me fall to be let regular, if I have confidence the fact that the lady pays attention to diseases and/or diseases helps to avoid. Because property obligates: (translates with Bablefish)

If you are 100% needle-phobic this won't be for you, but the rapid test used in clinics in Ontario (and elsewhere, I'm sure) uses a tiny lancet to get a drop or two from a finger tip.  No tubes full of blood, no hunting for a vein, and virtually no pain.  It is also as accurate as the traditional blood test, and gives you a result in 5 minutes or so.

the rapid oral test, as MadameDahlia mentioned, is your best bet. they take a cotton swab, run it across your gums, and within 20 minutes (usually less) you have a result. Daddy and i have taken this test several times and we love it...no more needles!

edited to add that we are always tested free of charge, at the local health clinic. if you live in the U.S., then more than likely the health clinic in your county offers free HIV testing, just look online or call to check the days and hours.

Just give blood to the Red Cross...they do all the tests, and they will tell you if your blood is not usable (for example, if there is HIV or an STD in your blood).

Edit: Oops, didn't read 'that doesn't use needles'....sorry. Not sure.
