I'm 4'11".....I don't have a preference so much but I would hope he was taller than me.

Daughterofbaal -> RE: You must be this tall to ride! (7/30/2007 7:18:21 PM)

I'm 5'11 and I like to wear heels, but I've never found my height to be a problem, a lot of submissives seem to enjoy it if I tower over them.  And just like some men fancy petite girls, a lot enjoy long legs.  One of the beautiful things about this lifestyle.. someone is always looking for what you have to offer. I don't have a height requirement, its all about presence for me.

InnocentYoungSub -> RE: You must be this tall to ride! (8/12/2007 8:06:08 PM)

Some people might think this is strange...but I am a very rare creature in that I am a guy who is actually turned on by a woman being taller than me. Which is not good because it seems like 99.9% of the women on the planet won't date guys shorter than them.

I would absolutely love that. I'm only 5'8" but I'd still encourage you to wear the heels. [:D]

I adore tall men.  Over 6' tall is my swooning fantasy.  Lovely.

And both my two best wonderful Doms have been 5'8" - 5' 10".

And it didn't matter in the slightest.

girl4you2 -> RE: You must be this tall to ride! (8/13/2007 11:07:51 AM)

i gotta echo what heather said about the height differences. it just feels so right.

earthycouple -> RE: You must be this tall to ride! (8/13/2007 11:45:19 AM)

oh my....I'm 5'11" flat footed and couldn't care less if he's tall, short or in the middle.  I've had slaves who's heads I could kiss right on top without reaching and I've had play partners who I needed a stool to reach when tying them up.  It is what it is.  I rarely worry about aesthetics in humans and this is one that I never worry over.

littlesarbonn -> RE: You must be this tall to ride! (8/13/2007 12:19:52 PM)

One of my favorite incidents was with a woman who was constantly preaching about how she can't stand how men are so petty in their visual standards (she had a few pounds on her and received comments from guys every now and then because her pictures seemed to be lacking in this visual representation). To be honest, she would go on and on about how men shouldn't really be all so tied up in looks but if they gave her half a chance, they'd realize that beauty comes solely from within. At one point, we were talking about possibly pursuing a mutual relationship, and then she decided it wouldn't work because "I really prefer men who are at least six feet tall." She still goes on and on about men and their unfair visual standards concerning women.

I just had to comment that when I had an ad on match.com about a year ago, i received a decent amount of responses. then when i changed my picture in my profile, showing an updated look (different hairstyle), i started getting about 75% more responses. The written part of my profile never changed, so it was interesting to me how something as simple as a different hair cut could make you appear more interesting.  Also, maybe women don't consider height to be tied to looks. I'd say it is one factor in it.

Hairstyle can make a HUGE difference, and it really ties all back into whether or not you care about your appearance, and I think that ties into self image.  If there's one thing I think a lot of sub men could benefit from, that's a "makeover."  Many I think look in the mirror and just accept that they are subpar, not "cute," not attractive, but very few really work on their "look."

I think submissive men who are not properly groomed (hygeine as well as having a "look") are always going to get passed over.  Is that shallow?  Maybe.  But how hard is it to go to a salon (or ask a female friend who is a hair dresser) and pay some dollars and say "Can you give me a look that compliments my features and is relatively current?"    I challenge sub men who have not done that to give it a try, and see how women look at them differently. Oh, and post a new picture after you do.

Editted to add: "Supercuts" or some other "instant hair cut" shop does not qualify; go to a reputable spa with talented hairstylists!

switchsecrets -> RE: You must be this tall to ride! (8/13/2007 3:39:45 PM)

what you're saying about grooming is true, but in my case, i'm always bathed,  groomed....    the only difference was a different hairstyle. i tend to change my look fairly often, just out of boredom. it's also interesting to see how people react to you differently when you have a goetee or beard/mustache versus clean shaven.

littlesarbonn -> RE: You must be this tall to ride! (8/13/2007 4:03:26 PM)

Well, I consider myself so hot that I'm thinking of charging the hair stylists for touching my hair.

(nope, still not feeling it...gonna have to attend a few more of those self-esteem courses before I believe my hype....)

Just gotta love shorties...[:D]

Honsoku -> RE: You must be this tall to ride! (8/13/2007 4:33:57 PM)

I have no strong height preference. For D/s play I would actually prefer a woman who is taller than I am (not that it would be too difficult for that to be the case, I'm a whopping 5'8-9"). Tall women seem to like me as well, oddly enough. Probably because after years in various martial arts, physical size doesn't unnerve me unless the person has passed the point of "big" and has entered the realm of "good grief" (that and I'll actually look them in the eyes, rather than what tends to closer to my eye level).

Jesus, how vapid. Who in the fuck cares about whether or not their hairstyle is 'current'?

Um, well I might in looking at a guy. The mullet thing... or dazzlingly obvious combover....I might have a problem with...LOL. But IYS, I do LOVE long hair on a guy... if well kept (obviously not an issue for you). That is pretty much the secret right there though... if well kept. But go ahead, call me vapid [:D]

Height wise yes, its nice if they're taller, but its not necessary if they've got the right attributes otherwise. I've just never figured out why so many men who list their height as being 6-0 ft, so often turn out to be shorter than that, but those who are over 6-0 usually give an accurate figure? Anyone else noticed that?

Edited because of some too fast finger trouble.

I do. Most definately. Someone who looks likethey put some oeffort int how they look by way of a hairstyle makes a much better impression.  That being said, "current" is not something that be defined in masse. I love long haired men, I love short haired men, depending on the man. Current means fitting the hair to the look, rockers can have hair that fits the rocker look, and it can be amazing.  Then, on someone similiar but who is not a rocker, it can look ridiculous.
