According to CBS, David Halberstam died today in a car crash.

I heard this on the radio. In addition to his political
writing I enjoyed his work on the old Portland Trail
Blazers. And his guest appearences on Charlie Rose.

He was one of the better ones.

Hi Outlier. I agree, Halberstam was a fantastic writer, of not only history and politics, but I loved his sports work. October 1964 is my favorite of his, detailing the World Series between the Yankees and Cardinals.

never heard of him, of course, i don't watch the news, don't do history or look back on the past...but that's just me.
