You ever have "one of those days"?!   

I am trying to simultaneously finish a design project
and do homework for another class and have to run
back to campus.  
 
 
So a quick meal sounded good.
Pop some food in the toaster.   

It gets stuck.  I pull some of it out with a fork.
The food breaks, smaller pieces get stuck, repeat process.
One piece falls to the bottom.
I pick up the toaster to get it out.
One of the handles falls off in my hand!
Open the bottom and the last piece of food comes out.
 
I clean up all of the crumbs and eat.
Notice that something is itching inside my tank top.
Yup, crumbs stuck to my boobs!!!
 
Now I have to clean me up too!  
 
Anyone got any good recommendations for a sturdy,
budget priced toaster; one that toasts food without
falling apart or refuses to keep the food in place or
traps the food long enough to burn it?

Status: offline 		LOl I just mentioned this in another thread. Personally I recommend an older model one. Those things last forever and actually work. I found mine at an estate sale and there isn't enough money in the world offered that would get me to sell it. It's so old that the brand name isn't even visible anymore. The thing weighs a ton!

PS. Yes I recently had one of those days as well. Nothing went right from the moment I woke up. It was all I could do to get home from class in one piece and go to bed just so nothing else unfortunate could occur. Hang in there...tomorrow is another day!

Status: offline 		Alton Browns method works for me- plastic body, crumb tray, good toast level setting range and two side burner.

Status: offline 		i think it's a conspiracy about those damn toasters!  i finally got a bagel toaster w/the wide slots and the little racks that grip the bagel.....my toast doesn't crumble, but the bagels get stuck where the cut doesn't go all the way through...i just eat the dam things raw!

As for a bad day, does getting a bomb threat 20 mins before you're supposed to go home for the day count?  Myself and the other dispatcher working days were the last two out of the building, and it was another 2.5 hours before i got to go home to bed!  if they find the little bastage that called it in, i'm gonna put my foot up his ass!

Sorry, i get grumpy when someone messes with my sleep!

Never stick a fork in a toaster!!!!

Your gonna get electracuted!!

I mean, seriously...

No forks in the toaster!!!  If something gets stuck, call me! 

(Its something I'm always on my um about.)

But, yeah, I have those days.  Like other days, they pass.  :)

Status: offline 		ayep.  Right now.  Couldnt sleep for the life of me tonight because my back is killing me.......... i finally manage to fall asleep about 3 hours ago and 20 minutes ago i was wakened by my dog flying off my bed, barking her head off... some furry blurry thing ahead of her.....  (which i'm not realising was a cat also startled)........... intruder alert?  thinking holy sh#t... down stairs i go, grab a big kitchen knife.. follow the dog to the front door....... wondering "some one out there?" and nooooooooo.. just neighborhood cats doing the dirty.  But i'm WIDE awake and partially shaking.... 

one of those miserable days that just refuses to end!
