OK, I'm having a problem and I was hoping someone can help me....I decided to finally go completely bare for my Master. My problem is, I've developed a shaving rash that's not only ugly but very painful to shave over. I've tried everything I can think of to heal it, but it's not getting any better. Does anyone here have any ideas on how to help this go away?????? My Master keeps telling me to be patient and in time it will toughen up and go away. But I just feel so ugly about it and I dont like him seeing me this way....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you use an electric razor like a norelco triple headed ( my favorite ) then yes your skin will get used to it.
I suggest tho that you look into perminent hair removal a LOT of spas are doing it with lazers ( the type depends on your skin and hair color. ) but 5-6 treatments and its DONE.

There are lots of ideas on this thread:

24/7 razor burn

I had some razor burn when i started shaving but it completely went away after a few months. I love my Intuition razor.

I had a very painful and unecessary intro to shaving too. This is what I learnt.

1. Find a mentholated shaving GEL not cream for sensitive skin
2. If using a razor use one of the super duper ones like Gillette Mach 3? I cant remember the name of the one I use. Anything with multiple blades will do as long as they are really sharp.
3. Use a fresh blade each time. In time your skin will be more tolerant.
4. Shave with the flow of your pubic hair. And use LOADS of mentholated razor gel. And good luck. It took me months to work it out without razor burn.

Try sitting in a hot tub for awhile before shaving, that works for me

Thank you everyone for your replies, and thank you proudsub for the 24/7 thread, 5 pages of advice should keep me busy for awhile.
Jennsen...sitting in a hot tub before shaving has really helped, it has really cut the pain in half!
Thank you again everyone, I'm so glad I'm not the only one with this annoying problem and you are all here to help me...everyone here at this site have been so great since I started here...you all are the best!

Intuition razors are definitely the way to go. Threy have built in lubrication around the razor head...

from what i've heard, the bumps, redness and sometimes burning you get when you shave is from bacteria, not irritation of the skin.

That's called Folliculitis and it's a superficial infection of the hair follicles caused by staphylococi or fungi. This happens when you use a razor that has been contaminated with either one of those two things. There will be small white-headed pimples around the hair follicles that itch.
Razor burn is red bumps caused by injury to the hair follicles that are painful but will not produce puss or infection. Razor burn can become Folliculitis if you are not careful to keep your razor clean and dry inbetween uses though.

I remember wy back wen I was just an ikkle sub and my miss decided she wanted me to be bare I went through about 6 months of hell trying to figure out shaving, in the end i found out certain things that help a lot (in my case).

1: hair conditioner is by far the best shaving lubricant I've ever found. I use pantene more often than not as it is good and thick and comes in enormous bottles that seem to last forever.

2: as others have already said use a super duper razor like the mach 3. I use the original bog standard mach 3 as I've found no difference in using the newer versions. ive also use the willlkensonn sword protector though for me ths was less than successful. these razors do seem to be sharper shave cleaner and dont seem to dull as quickly.

3: I sterilise my razor after use, even though pubic hair is pretty tough as hair goes one use of a razor before dumping is wasteful and unnessecary, simply soak ur razor in anyting antiseptic and rinse it well before sotring it somewhere dry.

4: moisturise like crazy, just as there is no such thing as too much lube, when it comes to shaving there's no such thing as too much moisturiser. For quality and value for money E45 creme is probably the best.

5: the worst part of shaving especially inthe begining before you adapt to it is the itching. Use a large make up brush and brush on a light coating of baby powder and this will help reduce this, especially in the rub zones between ur pubic bone and ur legs. Make sure you wash this off very thoroughly as it can clog pores if you don't take very good care of your skin.

6: ingrown hairs not only suck but they can be blinding agony if they get very infected. To avoid this go to your local beauty store and buy a good exfoliating glove, use this lightly and carefully in the moring and before bed the two days after you shave and ingrowns will more often than not be a thing of the past. These gloves are also a really great way of making sure the baby powder is really gone.

7: If you do get an ingrown hair or an hair which is starting to ingrow (you'll soon learn to read the signs) using a sharp sterilised tweezer very gently to scrap the tiny skin bump back will often pop the hair out with no pain and little difficulty. These I generaly just pluck and in my case at least the replacement always grows back normally. for ones that are a little deeper I wills ometimes squeeze gently but firmly with the tweezer again to pop it out. If all this fails a weak solution of epsom salts is good for dealing with the infection quickly before it becomes nasty and after this the hair will gorn inside you until it eventually pops. As unpleasant as this is sometimes there's no other choice, I really advise against digging after them with a tweezers, down this road lives only pain of a bad kind.

8: Shaving against the grain is a very bad idea, it will lead to way more skin irritationa nd ingrowns, but for many myself included shaving with the grain leaves you with stubbly areas, a good half way house is to shave at 90 degress tot he direction of growth this is nowhere near as tough on ur skin as shaving against thegrain but catches the hair at a better angle than shaving with.

9: depending on how much hair you have you may have quite a bit in the rub zone where your legs join your pubic area, this can be a place where itching, ingrowns and infections will drive you mental, I quickly learned that the easiest way for me to deal with this was simply to wax or pluck it, and then its simple to maintain needing only a minute or two to get whatever has grown thru overnight. It may seem time consuming but its gentle (if done carefully), will not lead to any ingrowns (again if done carefully) and as my miss was want to tell me it showed that little extra effort on her behalf.

10: dont forget to stand to attention when you miss is inspecting to see if you've done the job properly.

hope all this helps somewhat.

Ok, so I'm in the shower and I'm looking at a selection of about 10 new different razors which have all ripped me to shreads, and I just cant bare to use any of them again! I had let the hair grow for a couple of days and it was driving me crazy, so I had to do something! I glance over and see my daughter's razor and figured I'd just try it and get her a new one so she wouldn't be grossed out with me using it. I was so surprised! I have never had such a close, painless shave with absolutely no razor burn or bleeding afterwards! It's a cheap 2 bladed razor called Gillette for women. When I told her I used it, and loved it...she said to me, " Well Mom, I could have told you that!"
I would have never guessed that razor would be so excellent! And I would have never guessed my daughter would know more about shaving than I did! I got us both new Gillettes and what a relief!!!!!!

Thank you for all your replies and all of your help!

Try this one. In my opinion it is better than the one's mentioned here.
It also has the best drawback of all. It is 100% free for a limited time.

Trader Joe's also has had a fantastic shave gel lately...It comes in a non pressurized orange tube, and it's great stuff. Very nice shave.

I gave up shaving months ago and started using a product called "magic powder" its a dilipotory for african american men that helps prevent razor bumps!
It really is magic! Took off all the yucky hair and leaves you soooooo smooth! AND NO RASH EVER!
My master loves it and it feels great to me too!

Hey surfergirl, wouldn't you know it, I had a little can of that for a long time, but I was afraid to use it because the directions said, not not use 36 hours before or after shaving and alot of other scary stuff, so I threw it away 3 days ago!!!! How exactly can you use it? you mentioned it took off all the hair...do you ever have to shave when using it?

I'll see if I can find and order it and let you know, thanks
I've been using a combination of "Jergens Naturally Smooth shave minimizing moisturizer" and "Noxzema Bikini topical analgesic" and it has help alot, although Tendskin sounds even better!

Nope I never have to shave.. I use it once a week and have no probs at all!
All you do is make the paste, spread it on all over and wait about 5-7 minutes, rewet a little if it drys off, then take a wash cloth and rub in a circular motion,, not to hard, and rinse off.. Great stuff! Give it a try!
