I guess it depends... Are you out to the world about your interest in the fetish world? If so, then break out your best fetishwear and go for it!!
If not, I'd suggest just going with the basic black for your first experience. You'll feel more comfortable and be able to enjoy the whole experience more. And if you run into someone you know, you'll be able to make up some excuse as to why you're there without having to explain the outrageous leather / rubber / latex outfit that you're wearing! ;)
Either way, just go and enjoy yourself!!!
