I love to shop, REALLY love to shop

I have a strong feminine side, I can actually spend time and enjoy myself in a fabric shop

I love to garden and grow my own food, I can grow plants from cuttings and want to learn to do grafting.

I can actually bring myself to think of others first

I am quite adept socially and can be entertaining at anything from Chez Panisse to a neutral biker bar with men flying colors.

I can at times be playful and light hearted

I am a hopeless romantic

Damn fine cook

lockedaway -> RE: What do you bring to the table? (5/1/2007 6:50:06 AM)

I am a good cook and I love to throw large dinner parties.  Sometimes those parties are in my house and sometimes they are on the beach.

I love to travel the world and I do so fairly frequently but I don't like to do it alone. :)

I enjoy boating and will take the boat up the Hudson which provides a great and different view of NYC.

I'm learning how to tango.

I enjoy a great many activities like: skiing, rollerblading, raquetball, target shooting, poetry readings, gallery openings, Broadway shows, wine tastings, paintball, etc. and I'm always open to try more.

I like to expand people's horizons and I love it when they expand mine.

As a sub, I'm loyal, obedient, protective, willing to try new things and sincere.

To the table I bring a knowledge of my own faults and misgivings.

Know yourself before you know me.

A better than most ability with massage. The ability to multitask and still pay attention to what is going on around me. A reasonably fit body, mind and soul. Habits I was raised with that many could see as submissive, (i.e., opening a door for a lady, offering to take their coat, getting their drinks/meals, doing a friend's laundry, etc.).A playful nature and sometimes twisted sense of humor. Aside from the wannabe's that bring all sorts of merriment to the forums, what do you as a Dominant or a submissive bring to the table?

What keeps you outside of the box, so to speak?

I'm not always good with things like this, and I invariably forget stuff but off the top of my head:

- Classical violinist and a strong knowledge of different genres of music from classical to jazz to r&b
- Various analysis and problem solving skills (qualitative and quantitative based)
- Access to some of the best libraries in the country
- Very good cook - primarily french, asian/chinese, southern, and garden variety american cuisine and I'm decent on my understanding and ability to match white wines with food
- Strong knowledge of formal dining - both on the serving and guest/appropriate table manners side
- Good financial management skills - budgeting, tracking, etc using Quickbooks
- Strong computer skills - photo programs like Photoshop, website development (I can write HTML from scratch), database development with Access and Excel
- Great sexual skills (for both genders but I'm better with men than women)
- Organizational management skills
- Strong Event planning skills - small and medium sized events
- Decent mending/sewing ability and decent gardening ability
- I'm a good listener and pretty good at asking the right questions to get information or help people feel more comfortable
- I bring a good sense of humour with a complete inability to tell a good joke, a pretty quick wit, extremely strong sense of loyalty and blunt honesty (that I'm pretty good at curbing), and a workaholic ability to juggle lots of projects at one time and stay on top of all of them

Now see I ought to hang out with you.  Been thinking about learning to play the violin... maybe next year... teaching myself tenor banjo is keeping me preooccupied this year.  Funny the things you learn about people.

Thank you all, so very much, for your input. I've feel like sometimes we become so overly labeled that we forget that other people have identities, aside from what we see on the boards. So, again, many thanks...ya'll made my day![:)]

mmmmm... lilsister,

One thing I'm discovering reading so many of the posts on this tread is...I didn't dig deep enough nor 'splain me well enough!  Hey...it's not my style; though I admire the ones who can.

Sweetie, I'm quite sure you're a peach...and to many people.  Your owner is lucky indeed.

Evlgryn -> RE: What do you bring to the table? (5/1/2007 8:48:56 PM)

As Wildfleurs' Dom I can testify that she brings all those talents to the table. Furthermore she brings herself to, and in place of the table.  I have spent many pleasurable moments eating food she has prepared while she kneels in front of me, acting as my table. The rules for feeding pets from your hand at the table do not apply to willing slaves. What I bring? Evidently I am good enough to hold her attention and her affection. Of course strong enough and smart enough to  hold my own. But to gain her submission? That required being fierce enough to hold on, wicked enough to hold her imagination, benevolent enough to keep her healthy and happy in her servitude. And  perhaps most importantly creative enough to give her pleasure in being held.

smilingjaguar -> RE: What do you bring to the table? (5/1/2007 11:24:59 PM)

I'm horribly unorganized.
I forget anything I don't write down.
I fart during sex.

Seriously, though, if I call you friend I'll gladly give you the shirt off of my back and a roof over your head.
I have an unhealthy affection for a 1973 Chevy that's just about falling apart.
I'm the one friends come to when they need the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
I use my wit and sense of humor to relieve my friends' stress.  I can make you laugh while you're dying.  I've done it.
I never come over without calling.
I reheat a mean spaghetti sauce my Sir makes.  It's great for when you get dumped or have a crap day on the job.  I can even boil the noodles.
I keep up with current events but can also discuss the peculiar news section with great enthusiasm.
I really can cook.  I just don't tell anyone but my Sir.  People would expect me to bring casseroles to dinner or such if they knew.  Shh!  Heck, the people who know think my Sir's being kind and letting me take the credit.  Yep, I'm that good.
I'm a hermit.  If you like leading a quiet, contemplative life, I'll not ruin it by dragging all sorts of people through the house.  I'll ruin it by bringing 2 ums into the house. :)
I'm a pessimist when it comes to the human race in general.
I'm a great mom who loves the job.
I love animals and spoil them like ums.  I'm especially good at rehabbing abused animals.
I know when to put on what hat to make my Sir happy and well adjusted.
I can troubleshoot most any problem on a computer.  I can design and build a beauty of a gaming machine.  I burned myself out on computer repair, though, so now I consider it a submissive act.

CrazyC -> RE: What do you bring to the table? (5/2/2007 6:45:33 AM)

The ability to blush when being told sexual words in a vanilla setting.
The ability to find good in everyone.
To be able to find great joy in the simple everyday things.
My love to use energy work in massages.
The fact that my mouth gets me in trouble more then I expect.
A listening ear that knows when to just listen and when to help.
My love for nature and the well being of it.
And my love of all things beautiful....be it art, music, or just watching the sun set.

TahoeSadist -> RE: What do you bring to the table? (5/2/2007 7:01:38 AM)

Hmmmm let's see
-I am an excellent cook
-I do have a sense of humor, dry and warped though it is, and can generally find ways to make someone laugh
-I rate myself as a pretty good photographer (others say more than that, but I am my own harshest critic)
-I have a wide range of seemingly non-connected interests and am always looking to try something different.
