Wildfleurs, after a person has made a formal visa application to the USA they aren't allowed to travel to that country until it's been accepted.

And ONCE it's been accepted, and they are in the USA, they aren't allowed to travel OUT of the country for two years (without formal approval from the Immigration Service) - that's where I'm at right now. No fun either but less difficult if one's in lurve :-)

I understand that she can't travel - I don't understand why HE can't travel to her.

Things have come to the point where He has begun making lists of pros and cons of being in a relationship with someone across the border as opposed to someone across the bridge (There is apparently someone who has made her interest in Him quite clear).

Flippin' Yikes!!! I wouldn't want to be on any pros and cons list and we live 6 inches apart. I can understand, from personal experience, the frustration of having an LDR...but this just screams "manipulative" to me.

Our situation was flip flopped, as I had people who had interest in me while we were on different coasts, but there was never a list. I always answered that I was very flattered, but also very involved.

I know you said that you are both busy, but this seems important enough to set a time to talk about it over the phone...or even better, if He were to visit. You only need a birth certificate to visit Canada, and enough funds to get there. I think it's definitely worth the trip...you need reassurance that none of us can provide.

You may be feeling lonely, but I'd be feeling pushed aside, especially since you're having to get through all the red tape to relocate.

I have been with Master in a LDR for 6 yrs in june.  It wasnt always easy, but we try to talk on the phone, emails, msn/yahoo everyday and Master does travel alot for his work, so he always manage to find time to talk to me even to just to let me know how things are going and he ask me how i am doing etc....You know even if it is a five mins call, that reassures me that he is ok and i can hear his voice and that makes me happy and horny of course:)))

I will say, its not always easy LDR, i do feel lonely at times, but i say to myself, soon i will be with Master in real.  Also, alot of time i will read my logs/conversations i had with Master and that helps me.

I have to say though that we both have trust in each other or else we wouldnt have been together for that long and we communicate as much as we can.  Master and i are working to make my moving to norway as fast as possible.

Best of luck :)

The first part of this isn't actually true from my experience. When applying for my k1 (fiancee) visa to live in US from the UK I travelled between countries about 4 or 5 times at least and although I got asked the usual questions and got told that they could possibly put me on the plane back home since I'd expressed an interest in LIVING in the country instead of just visiting I never was turned away and I went back and forth in that period as much as I liked. Whether this is different between the US and other countries I am not sure.

For all those who asked.. He has come here, He was just here at Easter.  But unfortunately, His line of work is coming into the busy season and He most likely won't be given the time off to come for another visit any time soon. (they work 6 days a week).

Dollface, i sure hope you're right about that.. cause that's the exact visa we're going for.  How long ago were you in the visa process?

To everyone else, i thank you very much for your comments and hope to read more.

My One and i were LD for over a year.  Communication was the key with us, we talked everday either online or on the phone, sometimes both.  If you have concerns talk about them.  From what it sounds like you do love each other and are taking steps to be together.  Trust Him suninside.  Together you are on the right path and those months will go fast.

Peace & Love

The last time I entered the US was about 2 1/2 years ago so I guess things could have changed since then but I really don't think they have. I don't think there are any rules saying you cannot visit during the time when your visa is being processed but you may have a more difficult time than your average visitor at immigration in the airport or however you're entering the country. A couple of the times I visited they did question me for quite a long time and try to trip me up and admit I wasn't actually going about things in a legal way i.e was planning not to return to the UK but I never got denied entry. I think it is pretty much a hit and miss thing and as long as you can prove you have ties to your home country - a job, family, a house, your bank statement etc - they don't have a problem with it. One time I was so nervous going through immigration that when they were taking my fingerprints the immigration officer had to press my finger down because my hand was shaking so much lol. Best of luck with everything. I know how hard it is myself.

Hey. I’ve recently gotten involved in a long distance relationship and was wondering if anyone had ideas for daily rituals that would make the distance a little easier?
