ORIGINAL: velvetears That's a good analogy slaveluci, and points to exactly what i was trying to get at. Thanks for sharing that analogy - they always seem to bring into focus so much better what words often cannot. You're welcome - i thought it would. i love a good analogy . i weighed in at the very beginning of this thread with what little i felt like saying about it so i won't get involved again. i'm afraid to. Kind of like some others i've been in the middle of, it just gets to a point where it's soul-draining to fight it out. i think everyone, at the root of it, has some good ideas and points and, in the grand scheme of things, it's only how the survivors of rape think of it and deal with it that matters. Outside observers deciding whether or not she/he "liked" it, whether or not it was "really" rape, or why it even happened is kind of a moot point when someone has been through such a tragic experience. Thanks for all your good posts on this thread and others. Keep your chin up.........luci
