The red welts will more than likely turn to bruises before they go away. As long as there's no broken skin the chance it's permanent are pretty slim to none. Some heavy impact bruises do take a long time to go away as deep impact can form blood clots that dissolve slowly, but I'm not thinking these were that heavy if they didn't bruise the first day. Take a nice hot shower and use lotion or baby oil after. It will help the abraded skin heal faster. I have a limit you may want to consider. No marks below the knees, above the collar bones, or below the elbows. This keeps me from the marks showing in vanilla settings. I personally prefer to have nice marks to remind me of my scenes. If I don't get any I'm slightly disappointed. Most of the bruises I've had from play were gone in less than three weeks unaided by anything. If your marks last longer than 3 weeks you may want to have them checked. Good Luck, suzanne
