not sure where i seen this posted about the Sacred Heart 7 day diet ... but was wondering if anyone has tried it and how it worked for them

I don't believe in quick fixes, what happens when you go off the diet?  As most know here, i have followed the South Beach plan for over 3 years and love it, such a healthy way to live for a lifetime and indulgences are allowed so i never feel deprived.

thats what i was wondering myself.... do you gain back what you lose plus

i myself have followed the Weight Watchers point system, it works as well

This is very similar to the " cabbage soup" diet. The soup ingredients are a bit different, but the * meal plans* are identical.  I tried it once, years ago and lasted two days. The soup was pretty good, but the gas pains and the frequent trips to the bathroom wore me out. I really don't know what I was thinking, because I despise bananas, the smell alone causes me to gag and wretch. Day three on both diets is bananas and milk.

I found, like other posters, that changing eating habits and eating healthy works best.

yes, i have done that and it does work... was in a slump so thought i would give it a try... it is hard to stay on but i did it... i lost 6 lbs, but im sure it will come right back unless i stay more away from carbs

This diet has been around a zillion years in one form or another.  I personally suggest that you not worry yourself about diets and simply change your lifestyle....ha ha, right?  Simply?  No way! 

Diets are diets are diets.  They work for awhile, we can't stand them and we quit then gain back twice what we lost.  The only real cure for extra weight is a balanced meal plan based on your personal caloric needs and exersize.  While I am not a weight loss specialist, I am a nurse and I've struggled with my weight since birth *that's a whole 33 years now* and when I eat balanced meals in moderation, drink 64 ounces of water a day and exersize (accomplish target heart rate 20 - 30 minutes at a time) three times a week  I lose weight; as do most people.  Sorry to say diets fail because we are not meant to cut carbs from our diet, to live on soups and one food group a day, or eat a grapefruit with every meal.  We are meant to put the RIGHT things in our bodies day in and day out and get our asses of our couches and sweat.

By no means the worst fad I've heard.  Sounds like it will clean your colon pretty effectively, too.

As a method of purifying something specific it's not a bad plan.  The unbalanced eating of protiens seems awkward to me.  In my extensive experience, avoid diets that involve more than four pounds a week (unless specifically suggested by a licensed dietician or M.D.) for extensive weight loss plans.  Malnutrition, gallbladder issues, and eating disorders can arise.
 
I'm not sure which comedian said it... but it was along the lines of "We will do abso-fucking-lutely anything to lose weight... except watching what we eat and exercising."
