Oh hun... She and you are in our prayers. Cancer is so damn scary.

They have gotten much better at kicking it's ass. Hopefully that is exactly what they will do to it.

Do you knit? ( I forget what handicraft you do)

I saw the cool hats you have planned for her. my girl has some awesome knitting patterns... I am getting a kitty hat soon.

http://www.helloyarn.com/wp/?p=252

She knows lots of links if you want them. That is what I could scare up.

*many hugs*

Gwyn,
soooo not a knitter.

Linnea, I was kind of hinting that maybe if her sister drives her so nuts, maybe she needs to reconsider things.

You certainly don't seem happy with her, almost every post you make on hate it personally, is to complain about your sister.

YHMA, that's kinda the purpose of the I Hate It When thread, to vent harmlessly.

*rolls her eyes*

It is the I hate it thread.. many of us use it to vent.. sometimes aimlessly.. or to share the poopy things in our lives.

If we wanted to change things... we would discussing them with our therapists, or over the phone with friends.

It is just part of our community.

hugs and prayers to your family and sis in law. I will go give her a lil healing faerie dust.

Just remember breast cancer is very curable these days, its not a fun ride but the success has gone up leaps and bounds.  Just think that she is going to earn her pink I survived ribbon.
No doom and gloom my love, yes get her fun silly things, sometimes that does more good than anything.  My best friend and I used to sneak over to a dollar store behind each others back and find something just silly but fun...and it was always just the thing one of us would need. Usually a surprise but if we heard "I got you a pressie" in that lil kids like voice, it was instant grins and we both knew it would be something funny and fun.

Hugs to you Gwyn ..... I can't even begin to imagine how disappointing it was to not get that job, especially after you got on so well with the woman during the interview.  Are you able to call them up and ask why you missed out and see if they can keep you in mind for any casual or part-time opportunities.

Angel, it must have been awful to have to return home without knowing your sis outlaw's results.  What scary news but I for one am thankful that she has you as her friend and support....hugs to you, her and all who love her.

Dc....hope your tummy is feeling better, I spent the long weekend and an extra two days doubled up with viral gastro so I (literally) feel your pain

Sappa...sending you a hug um because.... well I hadn't checked your profile in a while and damn you look hot (whatever you wear to the wedding PLEASE let all of us no-shows see pics)

Pure I have stayed in the US in some really cheapo hotels where they said you had to pay extra for a tiny fridge however when I said I needed it for my medication they put one in the room at no extra cost.  I also carry a letter from the doctor confirming I need the injections and when going through the baggage hand luggage check always have the injections and doctors letter out and ready (my injections are to prevent clotting).

Sage, don't ever feel you have to justify why you are hatin' on this thread, us regular hataz (as my niece would say ) all know that this is a safe place for us to rant and rave and gripe and moan and get unconditional support...well also maybe a kick up the butt when needed but mostly lots of hugs and love

Misst be gentle on yourself, sometimes it takes us a while to be ready to do the things we 'know' we should do ... thats ok.  Can you break it down into tiny steps and maybe take that very first small step? eg. for me I had a pile of paperwork I had to sort out and it was so overwhelming  just let it pile up even more.  My first step was to take the very top bit of paper and file it in it's correct place.

I hate that I only got to read back three pages so far.... hugs to everyone on here, sounds like the past day has been a struggle for a lot of us.

edited to fix a typo...damn me and my two finger typing

*hugs* thank you sweetie...

Pure it really isnt too hard to travel with insulin. As Wanders said most places will give you a fridge. Carry a compact cooler with the blue ice stuff in it while traveling.. and have your docs out for the TSA.

My mum was on R and N insulin twice a day for years. ( she was horrific at following a Dr's orders. Bacon, and Pepsi were their own food groups to her) and we traveled a lot.

*more hugs to Pure*

Gwyn

Hugs Gwyn, having watched your pregnacy advance it is like watching what my daughter went tho with her last and final.  She was miserable her last trimester. Constant braxton hicks like you some so hard we would hold our breath wondering if it was time, she had a problem with the baby cutting off nerves in her legs on one sidesending shooting pains to her pelvic area, which just to walk was a challenge.  Idiots at the hospital not giving good good answers, the several false alarm trips, the her water really breaking but when called they said oh just keep an eye out of things and come in the hosptial in the morning GRRRRRRRRR
She said that had she known it was going to be such a difficult pregnancy she would have changed her mind, as she was the oven for my best friend and her hubby.   But that was the misery speaking. Its was a smoothless transition after birth and was chomping at the bit to get back home to her honie pie who had been out of the country on business. 4 days after birth she was on the train with the two faerilings. Its an open adoption, plus mom is still my best friend and just an hour away,so I do get to see and play with my non offfical 3rd faeriling. Her facial features are very like my family, and will grow up knowing she has another set of family back in Texas. LOL when mu daughter got her first sonograms, she was in a position for a profile......there on her face sat my nose LOL

Aww Sage, that was so wonderful of her to do that. I really love the whole adoption thing. I have had many friends who were adopted. My honey and I have thought about helping out our minister and his partner. They want a baby soooo badly. After this last trimester I am a bit more weary of it. *breathes a bit heavy grimacing* I am no longer a spring chicken.. and this one has taken a toll on me. The other life stuff sure isnt helping either.

Hopefully in the future we can adopt a third. I think I am done birthin babies.

I love sonograms.. we got one of Gabe sucking his thumb. The 3-d ones are just freaky as hell though. Look like little lizards. *shudders*

Gwyn,

Those first views are amazing, they didnt do those back in the day, plus you didnt know what the sex was till they were born.  Sonos were reserved for high risk.

My friends started in NJ as foster parents, and I was living with them so got to play with the 2 we had, one was a 4 day old baby, the other was 18 months. They were going to try through the fost-adopt program but we moved to VA.  Going through the an agency will break you for life. It all came about that I had to go home because of an incident. My daughter and I was out smoking outside and somewho got into a conversation where she admitted she had an abortion because she just wasnt financially stable to raise 3.  I mentioned if it ever happened again that my friend was desperate for a baby And she up and said....I will have one for them, no long thoughts, we talking with her partner and he said he didnt have a problems and it was good to go. 2 months later she was preggers. She never thought about it being her baby from the beginning of the brewing to birth, if the baby when on a kicking spree she would go find the future mom or dad so they could share. The last 2 months she stayed with us in VA.

It honestly could not have gone any smoother for such a difficult gift to give, as while many say oh I could do that, it takes a very special person to actually do it without ending grieving and feeling lose. She didnt even go through post partium blues.

She was just happy that my friends had an angel of their own, the new angel looked alot like many in my family. We do make pretty babies. I say Angel because thats always been what we called my daughter, and she did certainly earn her wings. The baby is now 3 calls me TeeTee as I somehow got branded with that with the 18 month old foster baby.  He would yell for me from that gated stairs TEE TEE so I would come up and play with him LOL

no. i quilt. i'm gonna hide after saying this, but knitting and crocheting is reserved for my retirement and 'old age'

come to think of it, there's a whole line of fabric devoted to the pink ribbon foundation. part of their proceeds from the fabric get donated. thank you for reminding me! i'm going to make her a prayer quilt. each block will in some way be devoted to prayer either by symbology or specific prayer (she's a pastor's daughter and wife).

it was. but she called me asap after the dr's visit, i've made her promise to do so after the specialist visit tomorrow evening, and have told her though i probably can't make it for the surgery, i will be up on weekends as soon as i can. i think giving her family a break when she's sick would be a blessing for everyone - myself included.

thank you holly. think your angel could pull some strings up there?

I hate that we put off the laundry for so long, the bag that goes to the Laundry service about weighs as much as I do.  Thank god for old granny carts.  Luckily its just like 5 buildings down.

we have a teeny washer for the delicates.

All the hardy stuff is taken down the the laundry and cleaner service my sister has been using for ages. When you add it up hauling it about 8 blocks to the local laundry mat and the cost of doing it yourself, the laundry service is pretty even...I think its like .85 cents a pound or something like that.  There is no laundry area in this apt building as its a used to be an old style tenement building, which accounts for the small apt size.
