Im attempting the xmas spririt as going to sons. do think the spirirt might end up being vodka. shop is open til 10pm

I have been getting upset at Lizard thinking that she will get what she wants for Xmas. I did not have to buy the new computer but her father got her a laptop without consoling me about the specs. I rather he take it back on Saturday so he can use the money for groceries (or beer,,,definitely beer if he wants the bewbage). This computer had 10x the memory and storage than the junk he brought for $100. (I am still wonder how the hell they got past my lovely password.). I believe in giving simple and plain gifts, not the hottest one. The cordless phones need new batteries. Lizard has grown in the bewbage area and needs new bras.

Sorry for rambling on, but I am frustrated by how Xmas is treated these days.

Yes it has gotten quite commercialized which is why I am looking forward to the plans I've made. Going out of town to spend a few days with friends and we have no plans to exhange gifts. The only gifts is sharing among each other is the pleasure of our company and sharing laughter and food.

And on top of this...Office depot screwed up the order! It was suppose to be a slimline HP computer with 10x the capacity of what she has now! Hopefully the UPS guy or the OD guy comes by and pick this printer up because I am not riding the bus with this sucker. I need to workout tomorrow with 2 circuits at Curves and some last minute essential shopping before helping my daughter get ready for an anime con.

DarkSteven I'd recommend using noncarb snacks - nuts, vegetables.
I've been searching for some but most of the women I've met on here are actually fairly sane and intelligent. (No Holly joke please. Yes I already know that the LO is slowly driving her insane but it will take a while)

Holy shit I almost pulled a "Holly" & burned my kitchen....but w/o
cooking. I lit a candle in a jar in the kitchen and as I sat in the living
room watching tv I hear this "noise" and I think it's my neighbors pipes but
it sounds strange so I turn the tv down and realize it's coming from MY kitchen
so I go and investigate and there are HIGH flames coming from the jar getting close
to the paper towel roll.....eeeeek! Thankfully I have blowing skills and was able to
extinguish the flames then I poured water in the jar.....whole place smells like
candle wax and smoke:(

Aww Jeff it sounds like your really having a hard time. I'm just coming off of a hypomanic phase (slept 21 hours today) after a week with a total of 36 hours of sleep. I hope I don't crash.
When I was with my EX Christmas was a big thing. Even though we did not have much money then. She put so much love into it.
She would shop all year just for Christmas looking for things at garage sales and thrift stores that she hoped I would like. She would get me one big gift with a limit of $50 and lots of small ones that she only paid a buck or two for. Funny but the small ones where the ones I loved the most and have kept several to this day.
I always managed to get her one really expensive gift, and lots of smaller ones (thank GOD for dollar stores and thrift stores), to find space for a small tree, and to decorate it well.
I also always found an orniment with the year on it that meant something to us. One year it was a simple "our first chrismas" orniment. Then it was a pair of elf cats orniment because she had two and they where a big part of our life. The final year it was a santa mouse on the phone because I used to call her at lunch and sing love songs to her and on my hour long commute home she would read to me from a book we shared.
We always went over to her parents home and did round robin gifts and then a special low cost gift game. (basically round robin with gift from the dollar store but there where a few bonus gifts tossed in) It was a blast.
It hurt last year not to have that but then I had a close friend to go through it with. (that year I bought an orniment with a child on it because that was the dream we shared and she had a child with her new boyfriend.)
This year will be my first year truly alone and it hurts but I'll make it through and hopefully next year I'll have someone because Christmas without love really is not Christmas.
So I sympathize with those of you how feel less than perfectly happy this time of year. And I'm happy for those of you whose Christmas will be filled with love and family. (and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in Holly's case.)
