We are not all perfect, are we?
All of us do something that is not the healthiest from time to time.

For me it is the coconut pecan frosting in a can.  It is a VERY good thing that I do not know how to make it!

Aylee, check the sodium levels for me please.  i'm afraid to even pick up a can of icing - for fear i would buy it and eat it.  (i already can guess that the fat and sugars are high.)

Well, Hanable, i always called it frosting and it was buttercream made from scratch.  i call it icing now because that is what the people around me call it.

But, now that i am successfully losing weight (very slowly) i am not eating cakes and frosting at all...just fresh fruit.  So i'll skip the frosting/icing for a bit longer.

Some equivalents from a well known fast food restaurant compared to Betty Crocker frosting:
Calories in 10 level Tablespoons of Cream Cheese Whipped frosting = 500
Calories in a Quarter Pounder with cheese = 510
Calories in a Big Mac = 540
Calories in a Sausage Biscuit with Egg = 510
Calories in a large fries = 500
Calories in a 12 oz Chocolate Triple Thick Shake = 440
Calories in 2(two) Baked Hot Apple Pies = 500

Calories in 10 level Tablespoons of Coconut Pecan frosting = 750

Since frosting is mostly sugar the fat grams and sodium are lower than the other items above.

Disclaimer: i am not saying that any of these items are healthier or less healthy than the others.

The only frosting I currently have in the house is Betty Crocker Cream Cheese (For a Spice Cake mix I have) and in the ENTIRE can there are 910mg of sodium.  (70 per serving, 13 servings).

I do not reccommend that anyone sit and eat an entire can of frosting.  But an occassional spoonful is not going to hurt you.  For me, it is all about moderation.  I think that it has to do with the way that snacks and sweets were treated while I was growing up.  No special virtue on my part.  LOL

Well, Aylee, you retain your reputation as one of the Wonder Moms of CM.

How are you, Butterhead and the other half, today?

How in the world did I aquire such a thing?

Pretty good.  The other half is off at the game store, and Butterhead went down for an early nap.  I had her on a scheduale. . . but with my trips out of town and such, the other half did not keep the scheduale up so well.  So I am currently working on getting her back on a decent scheduale.  This of course involves waking her up in the morning, before she wants to be up.  I took pity on her when she had her head resting on the highchair tray instead of sleeping.  Since she had been up for an hour and a half, I put her down for a nap.  She immediatly pulled the blanket over her head.

It looks like there is going to be not so nice weather later today, so she may not get to go to the park with the other half once he gets home.  I will likely let her run around on the front porch though, if there is not a tornado warning.    (Don't tell my grandmother please!)

Is she going to be wearing shoes running around on the porch during the rain?  More to the point  - will she have her clothes on?  i don't care...but how about her grandma?

The Wonder Moms are a new group i just made up.  i'm still adding to the list.  So far it is Aylee, Holly, Rain, (4Q is in the men's auxillary), there's more ...

Yes, she will have shoes and clothes on!  LOL  And the porch is covered, so she should not get to wet until she tries going down the steps.  She does have a lot of clothing, so if she does get soaked, I can put her in dry clothes after.

I think that encouraging the desire to go outside and play is a good thing.  Too many short people spend all their time inside with the television or a video game.  I am not worried about instilling a love of books, as I am a total bookworm and she already has a collection.  Getting her to sit still for a story is another issue all togeather, but I am working on it.

Butterhead also helps me excercise.  Sit-ups take on a whole new meaning with a toddler sitting on you and then leaning against your chest as you go up and down.

Holly is an amazing wonder mom, I have no idea how she does it.

You need to add Celeste to the list.  DesFip, I think is the UID.  She has the pink peony picture.  Not only is she a wonder mom, but likely one of the most sensible people on this site.  I find her posts thoughtful and tactful.  Much much much more tactful than I can be.
