We were just discussing this the other day. I look for the vests with all their kinky merit badges. That has to be the sure sign of an expert, no?

I was asked to do, of all things, a flogging demo by a group in the eastern part of my state once....I declined since that is really not an "expert" sort of activity anyhow.  I mean really it's not a high skill sort of thing......I'm expert with metal working....(after doing it professionally for over 25 years) pretty fair with leather and I *like* a lot of kinks.....

On the reverse side-some people actually ARE experts at things.

While others seem very good at playing tear down games about people they never bother to learn much of anything about. Jealousy?

It always comes back to the inferiority complexes, doesn't it?

lets not forget the ones fresh out of highschool...the 18-21 yr old dom's.

Which brings to mind one of my pet peeves, the 18 fresh off the boat sub. If your too inexperienced to dominate someone at 18, then you are equally too inexperienced to understand and accept the consequences of submitting. Takes just as much knowledge, just from a different point of view.

We should lock them all in plastic bubbles, safe from disease, poverty, all the evils of the world and the natural experience of having a relationship with another young peer.

We can have the Experience Fairy visit them once a week, until they properly grow in their isolation to take on the functions of an adult without the horror(!) of making mistakes and learning from them.

It's one of my pet peeves when the self righteous insist on restricting the young from the neccessary mistakes and trial and error that grows them into an adult under the short-sighted virtue of "keeping them safe".

Makes me wonder why we have so many adults these days who can't take care of themselves...

I ventured out and commited the risky and edgy act of attempting to have a girlfriend at the age of 18 and I turned out all right.

I wish they listed spelling so I could check, "Not Even Close."

Bad Spellers of the World, Untie!

PS, when I originally typed Untie, it came out Unite. My dyslexia almost destroyed the dyslexia joke. THAT's funny!

Oh, and if people who "write books" truly wanted to be modest they wouldn't be here under their real name.

Frankly, I have a lousy memory so I generally use my real name.  First choice is John Warren, it that is taken, Dr John Warren.  Haven't had to move to a third choice yet.

Passwords were a problem until I came up with the idea of simply encrypting the website name against a rotating cypher and using the output.  That way anyone knowing my password for one site can't figure it out for another.  Every six months or so I use a new rotating cypher and change all the passwords, but I don't have to write them down.

Many years ago, I read Markings by Dag Hammarskjold, and I've never forgotten one sentence from that book: "Never measure the height of a mountain until you have climbed it. Then you will see how low it was."

Hang around here long enough and you'll eventually hear someone complain about virtually everything imaginable.

Personally I just can't stand all the complaining... I really hate how some people always seem to be complaining about...

I just got a really twisted image of a cross between a boyscout and a Leatherman... I think I'm gonna have nightmares now... damn you.

Scary part is that probably, somewhere out there... it exists.

I actually discussed kinky merit badges with Achella before Beverly died. She thought it was a good idea, but didn't want to front the money ('cause, hey, if she invested in every idea out there...). I can design them if someone can front the money for the first round of patches from a repuatable embroiderer (who doesn't mind adult themes).

I think the first patch should be the "Anything BUT Vanilla patch" Featured by a Vanilla Soft Cone centered between a red universal NO symbol.  And we can all imagine what the "Beaver" patch would entail....not to mention giving a whole ne meaning to the 'fun with knots' badge....oooo the Backpacker brings up all sorts of mental images.. ..and I'm thinking the "Sharing our Bounty" wouldn't represent helping out with the food drive...and Whale watching....is that really a sport worth earning a badge over?

Definitely time to head to bed....
