I completely agree with this.  A year ago when Butterhead was sick I got flak from a couple of aquaintances for not taking her into to the doctor earlier than I did.  I had figured it was just a cold.  Nope.  It was croup and an ear infection.  How was I supposed to know?  No seal-bark cough (no coughing at all), no grumpyness, she was eating fine. .  .yadda yadda.  She had a runny nose and had gotten a couple fevers. 

I really do feel for you on this one.

Although. . . I thought that most times they had stopped giving antibiotics for ear-infections?  Or is that one of the "depends on the doctor" things?
