Well, she is still sleeping.  She wanted to party ALL night long last night. 

Of course her sleep/nap scheduale was messed up because of the tornado warnings.  Being snatched out of your crib and taken down to the basement for an hour at a time just does NOTHING for keeping a kid on their scheduale. 

But we are all safe and sound here.

For now, yes.  It is still tornado season.

We have a nice safe basement, so it is not too bad.  A few years ago there was some micro-bursts that came through and for some reason the siren system was not working.  Where my desk used to sit was right next to a window.  Well, I was at my desk and all of a sudden a bunch of debris hits the window, the wind shakes the snot out of it, and blows out a couple of windows on the back porch.  I thought that I was going to have heart failure. 

We had friends over last night, and so they got to spend time in our basement as well.  We were talking about the micro-bursts, and Kevin commented that when he was looking at them, from where they live, it was like an "angry hand of God had descended on Lawrence." 

There was a guy hit by lightening last night, he was in a spotting tower at the dam.  There was at least one more house hit by lightening.  I have not checked further on damage.  These happened durning the warning.  So, keep these folks in your thoughts.

The really odd one was when i was visiting in Abilene, TX on the Air Force base they had an audio warning system that said "TAKE COVER, TAKE COVER, TAKE COVER".

Status: offline 		Yep.  I am hoping that we do not have to spend time in the basement again today.  But there is supposed to be (and there currently is) a lot of wind and later some thunderstorms.  *sigh*

Status: offline 		dear god Aylee - I'd be a complete nervous wreck .................. I've been thru one tornado back 1988 in Edmonton - I missed all the fun stuff as I was the hospital basement in physio - blue skies when I went in .. then some chick comes screaming through the doors that my part of town has been wiped out by a tornado.  Dad was supposed to pick me up and of course he got delayed by underpass flooding ...............  I'm still know for heading for the basement during a bad storm if it feels wrong.
