ORIGINAL: fluffypet61 Goodness, Aylee...when you said the Bunny book, i thought of "Pat the Bunny". A book suitable for Butterhead. We have a copy of that. *laugh* But right now she seems to want to eat the books and tear the pages so we got her a whole bunch from the library book sale. They are hers and she can destroy them as she wants to. Her favorite currently is the book that I bought for her Easter basket. She is very very fond of the purple page and she brings it up to daddy or I to read to her. It is really cute and would just about break your heart. So. . . the story behind why I am reading The Bunny Book. My mother has to write a paper for her English class on an icon. she picked The Playboy Bunny. I have LOTS of stuff from feminist writers on anti-pornography and the issues surrounding it. I have NO pro-sex/pornography feminist theorists. I went to the bookstore planning to pick up something from Betty Dodsaon. They did not have anything. But I saw this book, and figured that it should have some good stuff. My mother has been eighteen kinds of stressed out over this paper. So I am trying to help as best I can. I am so proud of her that she is going back to college. But she feels like a failure because of the way my cousin smirks at her over it and the fact that she is getting a "B" in this class. It is a very humbling experience to have someone say to you that they are so happy that you did your degree work, after years of derision. I do not want to screw up this chance with my mother, and so I will read this piece of tripe. And I will do the best job possible with helping my mother on her paper. A Women's Studies degree has got to be useful for something, right? A Master's in Social Welfare has got to be equally useful when she calls crying because she is so stressed out, right? And my cousin Tonja can just go fuck herself. I know how perfect she is, my grandmother tells me everytime I talk to her. And poor little Butterhead gets compared to her oh-so-perfect children. So I shall just make do with what I have and can do.
