Status: offline 		You know, we did all sorts of stuff when we were kids that would have folks today stand up and roar!  Shit, we'd grab the electric fence for fun, fend off deranged chickens, run the lawnmowers, all sorts of deadly deeds.  Have our potato salad on the table for hours at reuninions.  And our mothers didn't disinfect our toys either!

Status: offline 		I do not believe I have ever fended off a deranged chicken.  I do remember helping to butcher them.  I enjoyed catching them with the leg-grabber-hook and plucking their feathers off and slicing open the gizzerds to get the gritty stuff out, and suggesting to cut the cat's head off to see if it behaved the same as the headless chickens. . . but never fending off deranged ones.

Status: offline 		We were raising six or so and my brother and I had to feed them.  They were kept in a small room in our landlord's barn, and whenever we'd open the door the chickens would fly in our faces.  And we had the joy of shoveling chicken shit.

The scarier part of feeding the chickens was listening to the boar slamming into the wall, trying to get out!

Status: offline 		Luckily we were not the ones keeping chickens.  My dad still dislikes eating chickens because they had them as a child and he had to take care of them.

It could become the next big trend for Dommies.

My dad still dislikes eating chickens because they had them as a child and he had to take care of them. - Me too but I still eat them for vengence. We had 100 to 400 a year and 4 to 10 mean rosters with long spurs! When I get my farm someone else is doing the chickens! I'll do the rabbits, hogs, and goats.

Status: offline 		OK, just got back in from Lake Worth, FL......I forgot how HA-YOU-MID it is in the south.....OMG!!!!!  It permeates everything and everywhere......even inside buildings!  And I don't know what the heck I was thinking when I packed interview clothes...a poly/wool, acetate lined skirt........OMfreakingG!  I took a shower this morning and didn't get dry til I landed in Phoenix!  To quote Walter, I have moss on my ass!

Anyway, not too sure how I did on the interview....they asked 10 questions about my job and various aspects of it, and I had a couple of map reading exercises, and then listened to a couple of calls and filled in the blanks on a simulated CAD.  IF the gods are smiling on me, I'll get a call, not a letter.......and I still have the interview on the 26th with the Tallahassee district of the Florida Highway Patrol.  Usually, I can get a feeling about an interview, but this one is tough.  But, if it's meant to be, it'll happen.  At least I know what to expect when I go to Tallahassee!  All of the people getting interviewed answer the same questions, and take the same tests, so it's all on how you do.....I'm trying not to be too obvious about it at work, but I really, really, REALLY want this job!  They just cut the OT at work, and I can't live on what they pay us for base pay.......I have no idea how folks with families do it!

Anyhoo....a big, fat HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to everyone here, and those that will be here later.................snorgles and hugs in the corner for any who want them!
