It took me some time.. not (three decades).. more like less than 3 years..
I don't even remember what their voices sounded like, .. if i did not have photos of them .. i will be now forgetting what they look like... if i did not have photos..

sometimes i do remeber.. sometimes i dont .. some times i miss them ... sometimes i think there will not be anyone (from my own blood) in my wedding...

I admit that I only have one brother who i did not saw him in 4 years... thank god for internet & vedio calling.
I admit that (CRYPTICLXVI) .. we all lost one or more who we love.. its hard but freinds & talking about it .. helps.

be safe....

My father died in 1980, I was just starting to get to know him as a person and not just a father.
A lot changed for me after he died. I changed a helluva lot after he died.
I miss him over the last three decades when I actually reach a place when I would like to have someone to speak with,
to have someone I trust to give me perspective.

At this point, I don't even fucking remember what his voice sounded like.

My dad died when I was 15 years old.

I have an old VHS tape of him at Christmastime. I wasn't with him this particular Christmas, but it was the last one that he was alive for, and he was so very much my dad in this tape...in every way that made him my dad. The house was decked out for Christmas and looked like a setting for a shoot in Country Living Magazine. The Christmas music was playing in the background, the fireplace was glowing, and he was his exuberant, silly, happy, funny self.

The tape also has a few other random moments. Like when he used to pull over the car on the side of the road and "moo" at the cows. Or the time he did a cooking show in his kitchen with an awful fake Italian accent and singing songs off-tune while he chopped up dinner.

I admit, I treasure that tape so much. I should get it transferred onto DVD and keep copies so I never lose it.

Kaliko -> RE: I Admit It I........ (9/2/2012 7:54:36 AM)

Ooh! I didn't realize it was something relatively simple like that. I thought I would have to pay to get it done somewhere. (I'm decidedly un-savvy when it comes to TV and A/V stuff.) Thanks - I will look into that.

ashjor911 -> RE: I Admit It I........ (9/2/2012 8:12:16 AM)

bee advised that (VHS) have very poor quality.. & you need first to make it digital to your own PC
then burn it into DVD..
I remeber buying that EASYCAP for less than 10$ .. & with it comes program called (Ulead VideoStudio) which have poor ammount of options for editing .. try it or try (cyber link {power director} version 7 or newer)

be safe

I admit I hate going back to my hometown for bad reasons

LadyHibiscus -> RE: I Admit It I........ (9/2/2012 8:24:04 AM)

I am grateful every day that my parents are with me, and that we had the demon that was my grandmother until she was nearly 99. It hasn't been the easiest life, and I learned early that "love" "like" "respect" and "trust" are things that can be totally independent of each other, but I value my family above everything.

I admit that we can choose new families too. I love my sisters of heart.

GreedyTop -> RE: I Admit It I........ (9/2/2012 8:27:24 AM)

I love the Hibbilicious.

*hugs to Needles*

ETA: I admit that the blazer is still acting as lawn ornament. the ground is not dry enough yet....

Please for yourself Kaliko, get this tape saved into multiple electronic forms..........do it this week. VHS tapes can be ruined in a moment. You will not forgive yourself if you procrastinate on this and lose that treasure. Do it Tuesday. For yourself.

Why did I think the Blazer was gone, Greedy? Weren't you going to sell it for parts? (Could be confused...wouldnqt be the first time!)

Somewhere, there is a VHS with a friend's home movies from the 60's, with my grandfather. I should find it.

GreedyTop -> RE: I Admit It I........ (9/2/2012 8:40:16 AM)

The blazer is still around because I overspent at the beach, and didn't have the funds to get the title sorted while I was there. Currently, it is my backup plan for when the mazda doesn't want to start (assuming I can get them close enough together that the jumper cables will reach..LOL).

Meh. It's handy. for now. lol

pyschosubmission -> RE: I Admit It I........ (9/2/2012 8:44:07 AM)

I admit I was stroking WomanlyWiles' cat when I sneezed, she now has the cutest "The fuck was that?" look I have ever seen [:D]

ETA
...and she's back to sleep

I admit I made the tiramisu. I admit I forgot how expensive those ingredients are until I went to the store. I admit it came out VERY VERY AWESOME. Yummmmmmmmmmm.

As a challenge to himself, Generic Dude got rid of our Direct TV account this last spring. The only thing we can watch now are DVD's or, as recently re-discovered, some of our old VHS tapes. As we've been going through these tapes, we've discovered that many of them are becoming unplayable. I didn't realize how quickly they become garbage. Especially when not played and stored in less than perfect environments. Apparently NOT playing them is harder on them....who knew? We've tossed several in the last couple weeks.

My advice to anyone that has treasured tapes, get them copied into another format ASAP.

Kana -> RE: I Admit It I........ (9/2/2012 8:49:33 AM)

I admit that about three miles from my house there's a little Italian bakery run by the man who invented tiramasu.
My man can cook.
Don't ya'll be hateful now, eh ;-)

I'm calling bullshit, not because I don't believe you

But because I really don't want to believe you

Kana -> RE: I Admit It I........ (9/2/2012 9:07:15 AM)

I admit that sadly, tragically, I ain't even kinda sorta lying.
But don't believe me, listen to what The Washington Post has to say...

pyschosubmission -> RE: I Admit It I........ (9/2/2012 9:40:01 AM)

I'm not clicking on that link, it might shatter my delusional self-denial
