Sorry, Hibs but the last time I emailed VAA, it took 2 weeks to get a reply to my question. I then replied immediately with requested info.............that was 6 days ago.[:-]

ETA: I just do NOT get catch & release fishing. Stress the animal to the point of exhaustion, the release it and hope it lives? If you're not gonna eat it, don't set out to catch it.

Did you have a tiff with your friend, and is that why she isn't receiving/answering your calls? IF so, I would say that her daughter really wants your daughter there, and she is extending an olive branch. I'm not a mother, but I do know that most would do just about anything to make their little ones happy...especially on a birthday.

Did your daughter and her friend have a fight? Is that the reason that the mother isn't returning your calls? Does she feel a need to distance herself from you as to not upset her daughter? IF so, I would say that inviting your daughter is an attempt at more presents. The mother/daughter may feel it convenient to invite an old friend for more goodies coming in the door.

I admit I remember 5 people sitting on a coffee table surrounded by 4 speakers to get the whole effect of the train in "Crazy Train" many moons ago.

I admit certain substances had been smoked to enhance the effect. It was pretty cool too. [;)]

I admit that kid is awesome.

I admit that Auntie Hib is tired of being Wise Counsellor, and just wants a cuddle. And is deserving of same for the very cute pj and braids looks she is rocking right now. Which is so wasted on the parrot.

I admit that MissMorrigan linked me to a story of an 89 yr old lady whose grey died at age 55! It reminded me of this Russell Brand clip that had an old lady talking to her grey about how much they'd miss each other.

I admit I appreciate cuddles and cute pyjamas! Too many pyjamas - said no one ever!

I admit today has been extremely relaxing and exactly what I've needed after a hectic few weeks.

I would say she wants her there. I see it happening with my own daughter - every few weeks it's a different set of friends, but that doesn't have to mean dislike for or disavowing a friendship with someone. They're just figuring out where to ultimately settle. I think it's nice that she was invited. It means she's still important to her, despite having not seen her since April.

I admit... I'm addicted to reading Joshilyn Jackson books.

I admit... it may contribute to my recent bout of insomnia.

I admit... I read 3 of her books in the last week.

I admit... I wish I could find my glasses... it would make my reading easier!
