Phoenixpower -> RE: I Admit It I........ (10/13/2012 6:51:22 AM)

I admit I just contacted a priest from another church to enquire about the process of leaving my church and joining theirs...

I admit my parents had decided that I am going to be a catholic once I was born and am heavily against it, these days.

I admit, the fact that we pay church tax, even worsened my annoyance about that church...as I am against supporting them with my money...

I admit online it says it is just the formal thing about resigning to my church at first and then joining their church, but I prefer the information from their staff themselves....before I end up unplanned in hot water again [&:]

I admit leaving the church entirely is sadly no option at all for me, cause most of my employers demand to be part of a church....and personally....I am not that much against it that I have to leave it....am just against the one I am part of....due to their very old fashioned views...

I admit it will look odd in future applications with school results from catholic religious education but then in the the CV belonging to another one, but that doesn't bother me the least....

I admit, now it will be time to bake my cake again at last....after I screwed it up last weekend [&:]

Employers demand that you're part of a church? To me this is just scary.

It's illegal to even ask in the states.

I admit I would happily share mine, Ash. Of course, the catch is that you need to be HERE.

*hugs*

Krondool -> RE: I Admit It I........ (10/13/2012 7:23:32 AM)

Yeah, religion in the States right now is crazy. A lot of people now believe that allowing employers to force their religion on their employees is somehow defended by the First Amendment about religious freedom. As though corporate religious freedom was more important then individual religious freedom...weird

I admit: question for the Army/former Army types. I just saw a pic, on the CM side, of a guy wearing an Airborne uniform - and sporting a goatee and mustache. It wasn't full color (but not quite sepia). It is my understanding that -while in uniform - military personnel are expected to be clean shaven.

So, is this dude visually mis-representing himself?

They don't need to ask they can tell from the handshake. This is why when I'm shaking a potential employer's hand I always do it in the strangest way possible.

FC!!! *tacklehugs* how've you been?

Just grand. Favourite time of year and all that. Hope you are well also.

Not former army but I was good friends with some former spec ops folks when I coached and had free sparring/workout space available and some nasty, capable people to spar with.
As far back as the 80's, some spec ops folks had what was called "Modified grooming standards". These were the guys who worked among indigenous populations and didn't want anyone to know they were US Military or even in a lot of cases American. (they were basically spies in other words). In order to blend in, they would adopt the same grooming standards as the people they were associating with in the field.
I mean, what chance would some clean cut, freshly bathed blue eyed soldier boy looking dude have of being trusted with sensitive information by "Jihad Joe".
For that job, you want someone who grooms himself like an outlaw biker but doesn't bathe as often.

lmpishlilhellcat -> RE: I Admit It I........ (10/13/2012 8:05:31 AM)

I admit the police officer contacted my husband yesterday and stated that he has decided to send our case to the prosecutor.

I admit after he accused me of just taking more meds than I realized and trying to ruin the petsitter's life, he found evidence that she lied to him and to me.

I admit she also has had past incidences involving meds and lost two jobs because of them (health career related jobs)

I admit I feel better now.

I admit my husband was starting to think I was mistaken and people were looking at me crazy and all the while I knew I wasn't.

Well, I work mostly in childrens homes and most of them (just like many kindergarden) have religious upbringing a lot in their rules and some of them are also connected with the church....so I reckon out of my experience that approx. 80% of them demand that you are part of the church..so when you aren't....you close many doors right before the stage of a potential interview and don't even need to bother applying for it.

My second last one was one of the rare ones who didn't care about that fact but at my last one we had once a funny debate about it how in times, when we have a staff shortage like now, it doesnt matter which religion you belong to, but once we have too many staff again, they can get picky again about, who is catholic and who isn't....

Anyhow, I just prefer the more tolerant views which the church I want to change to has, compared to the catholic one as it is sad for me to read and hear about the pathetic examples of the catholic one too many times. A recent example was when a staff at a catholic kindergarden got sacked as she dared to out herself as being gay....or their belief that women cant become a priest, that priest have to live in celibacy etc....

I just prefer to change and not to support them with my cash. Thankfully last year I got my cash back from them as I was able to claim a lot via tax return....

I admit that often such stuff doesn't matter to people but to me it just matters right now.....hence why I am looking into it to get it changed...even when it might lead to granny doing turns in her grave....[:)]

This guy (in his other pics) was BRIGHTLY blue eyed (I mean, omg, look at those EYES kind of brightly blue eyed), and his goatee/mustache were neatly trimmed and groomed. Hell, even in the uniform pic, all the facial hair was neat and tight...

Moustaches were allowable but they had to meet certain standards; not to extend past the corner of the mouth or below the upper lip.

To my knowledge Hill speaks truth. Only guys that were supposed to blend in as indiginous could get away with anything but military grooming.

Even if they were SOG, doesn't make them spooks, per se but, one didn't have to be out of the service to be doing spook-type work. On-duty full-time soldiers could have mission-specific orders that would exempt them from normal grooming standards.

There are some other explanations, also that aren't quite so cloak-and-dagger. If you have doubts, ask to see a DD214 with his name obscured.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I think it was the semi sepia tone pic that has me suspicious. It reminded me of the pics you can get at state and county fairs where ya dress up in costumes that have a slit up the back (to accommodate most sizes) and have a snap done.
