I think we need to direct our attention to EQ profiles, or whaever the fuck they're called.

In the PC there is a bunch of shit associated with your soundcard, and EQ profiles are one of them. In this piece of shit I have like five. They are named aptly, cheap headphones, good headphones, cheap speakers and so forth. This has not been hooked up to the ampzilla yet so that setting hasn't been determined and might never be. This fucker doesn't have the bands I want, like fifteen hertz and shit. But the other PC does so it feeds the Batamp. The amp is a hyperperforming and suffering unit. If I forget to turn on the fan it smells like a hot iron.

But my air flow problems are not the subject of this text. For the big stereo I can cheat a bit and kick in a few dB at 20 Hz while this POS starts at 100. It also has more RAM. But should I put it in the bedroom or what ? I dunno.

Maybe when I move out of here I will just leave the stereo, and come back to hear it from time to time.

Fuckit, just burn this fucking dump and get a better stereo later, if I can find one. Mufug don't seem as loud as it used to be anyway.

I do apologize for my absence, but I seem to have "burned" my laptop screen, then did more damage when I dropped it a 2nd time.  O how life is funny, NOT.  So after 7 days of no internet I'm back, with over 350 emails to go through.  I'm going through them, but not fast enough to keep new ones from coming in, I'm going backwards which of course makes sense to me.  LOL.

The Official Medical Official is back and in working order.  Sorta.

I think it totally absurd that I was invited to my "usual" T'day gathering (of gay men w/o anywhere else to go - y'know - an "orphan" party) AND that I was asked - for the first time in a gadzillion years - to bring "the pumpkin pie."

Totally absurd since I am a cook of some reknown in town and, well, they could have a WOWzer dish - as in past years - but decided to ask ME to bring PUMPKIN PIE.

WTF are they thinking?  Are are they even thinking?

Not to worry - I've got a KILLER recipe.

It is further absurd that I've lingered this long before making it. LOL! - Gotta GO bake, folks.  C'ya.

Hey, that "turkey coma" excuse is absurd.  Amount of tryptophan is neglible.  (It does have a soporific effect in pure form, but to act as such, must be taken on an empty stomach with NO protein.) http://www.snopes.com/food/ingredient/turkey.asp

Yes, yes, it's absurd that Lance knew this factoid.....  He knows a LOT of absurd facts.  I think that's why he was admitted / invited.  Absurd factoids abound.

P.S. pam, I'm glad you did not succumb to the coma that IS brought on by visitng  'nillas.

URGENT NEWS FLASH !

I have just got bored enough (not really, I actually felt like being absurd) to discover something about the "shot heard round the world".

Well at the speed of sound, for a sound to get all the way around the world it would take a little over 33 hours. At that rate, if the sound was omnidirectional then it would be heard by everyone in the world in about 16.5 hours.

But the interesting part is that it is now known that sunrise is faster than the speed of sound. At least at the equator, the sunrise is actually travelling at mach 1.3 or so. This means that if something blows up on the other side of the planet, like China or Israel or something, you might see it on the morning news before you hear the BOOM ! But remember, that does not mean nothing is faster than the speed of light, it just means that sound isn't. It loses hands down.

As funding is increased more important scientific facts will be released from this [dis]organisation.

Actually (in my case anyway) that 'turkey coma' comes from crashing down off my adrenalin rush and sinking into an endorphin high after finishing dinner. It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
