The olman read the Bible and the Book Of Mormon cover to cover and had a serious discussion with the Mormons when they came. They never came back. The JWs pretty much the same.
If they ever bother you, just answer the door fully nude and they will not come back. You might try a "NO SOLICITING" sign in front of the house but I am not sure in this country if that applies to the religious. I never checked.
I suspect that if I looked into this Russian law I would find that it is overblown. The law is probably not against the religion at all, only about the solicitation. Just like Gays. People were told that Gays were illegal in Russia but in truth their law only forbids promoting homosexuality to minors.
Anyone got an actual translation of the law against JWs ? Are they forbidden to build churches ? Are they forbidden to have meetings in their house ? Speaking of that one state tried that shit here, forbid religious meetings at private homes. Totally unconstitutional but these legislators are clueless. Seriously fucking clueless.
It is like anything else. Like ALL Muslims want to kill us. Sure some do, but not all. If all of them did there would be more of us dead. They are i our convenience stores, banks, fast food joints, everywhere. Most of them can buy guns. But by and large they don't do that. The media has people thinking they do. Mind you I want no more of them in my country, in fact I want no more of anyone in my country. I want the borders closed, period.

It is interesting the large amount of misinformation that there is out there about JWs and posts like this just add to it.
Yes, JWs go door to door spreading their message and so sometimes show up at your door at inconvenient times but they feel they are trying to save your eternal life. And although there are some who are relatively aggressive, if you are firm and let them know that you are not interested, they will go away quickly and quietly but they will return in the hope that may be your life has lead you to be more receptive in the future.
JWs do not believe that only 144,000 will be saved but that only 144,000 of mankind will go to Heaven and that for a special purpose, the rest of saved mankind will continue to live right here on a paradise Earth where they will receive back all those resurrected ones of dead mankind and that could eventually entail billions living on the Earth.
Also, I could not find and read the law itself but most of the articles are saying; “It banned all their activity immediately, and ordered their property seized by the state” and “Russia’s estimated 170,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses now risk criminal prosecution if they continue to meet for prayer or Bible study”.
And even if it was only a law against the “solicitation” that “solicitation” is fundamental tenant of JWs and so any law against that, would be a law “against the religion”.
