Musicmystery -> GOP government shutdown looms . . . despite no one wanting it (4/24/2017 2:43:45 PM)

Funding for his border wall?
Massive military spending increases?
A sudden health care bill?
Tax reform just like that?
Infrastructure spending?

Can Trump use Friday to get what he wants to avoid a government shutdown?

Can the GOP majority manage to muster a majority to pass their own budget?
Will they blame Democrats if they can't find the votes in their own party?

WASHINGTON — Congressional leaders and White House officials have steered the nation to the brink of a government shutdown that virtually all parties agree would be a terrible idea.

While lawmakers seem eager to forge a deal before government funding expires on Friday, the Trump administration wants to use the deadline as a point of leverage that Democrats — and at least a few Republicans — do not believe they have, raising the prospects of a shutdown that had seemed unlikely.

President Trump’s team is straining to demonstrate progress on key campaign promises like money for a border wall and increased military spending, hoping to project success before Mr. Trump’s 100th day in office on Saturday. But any measure will require bipartisan support, and Democrats are unlikely to budge.

The standoff continues a Washington trend, as banal now as it is nonsensical to veterans of the Capitol: legislative cliff-jumping in the name of brinkmanship, frustration or some combination thereof, with no clear endgame.

Incredibly, Trump is already trying to blame this on... wait for it... Democrats. Despite the GOP controlling all branches of government.

MasterG2kTR -> RE: GOP government shutdown looms . . . despite no one wanting it (4/24/2017 6:31:43 PM)

Of course no one in government wants to see a shutdown happen......if it does we would see just how truly useless they all are!! The same amount of work would get done if they are there or not.

As for Trumps' wall being in the budget.....the asswipe's campaign promise was to have Mexico pay for it....not the US taxpayers.

Tax reform which no one has seen yet is most likely a massive boon for the 1%'ers

And then there's a new attempt to repeal the ACA which is probably as bad as the previous attempt

Infrastructure spending....sure as long as Trump can grease the wheels of all his cronies and cohorts

and last but far from least....an increase in military spending......the US already spends more than the next ten nations combined....and it's been that way for a couple decades....

I say shut the fuckers down for six months......it'll be the best thing that happened to us....

I am thinking there may be some 'shorts' to get in on as I am sure there are those that have an index by now, govt. shutdown being such a popular call in the repub play book.

I should look into that myself. Might be time to jump on that 'sector' of our great and glorious paper capitalism.

As we all know or should by now, you get rich in America by making money...not earning money.

Like Lincoln so clairvoyantly told us, without labor, you...have no capital.

now thats funny! SS has nothbing what so ever to do with gubbleminbt funding. that money continues to roll in regardless, besides if the gubmint shuts down I will happily volunteer my time to SS, fuck the gubmint workers.

WickedsDesire -> RE: GOP government shutdown looms . . . despite no one wanting it (4/25/2017 6:39:12 AM)

Right am getting confused again on this: Although Republicans control both chambers of Congress, a funding bill will need 60 votes to clear the 100-member Senate, where Republicans hold 52 seats, meaning at least some Democrats will have to get behind it. Democrats have the power to shut down the government by staging a filibuster in the Senate. Why cant they change the rules on this one, like they do every other one, to 52 jackals / simple majority.

1.5 billion for the wall is a mere drop in the ocean. So whats this really about?

What do the fat-assed bureaucrats cost us annually, whose only job is to give us back our own money

And why can't they be replaced with robots

WickedsDesire -> RE: GOP government shutdown looms . . . despite no one wanting it (4/25/2017 8:18:52 AM)

Boscox the slow Isnt the mad lying fuks holiday home, alone, going to cost $1 billion plus a term on account of "Camp David is very rustic, it's nice, you'd like it," Trump said in an interview with a European journalist just before taking office. "You know how long you'd like it? For about 30 minutes."

What do the fat-assed bureaucrats cost us annually, whose only job is to give us back our own money One billion dollars plus? Good luck getting that back eh!

Still its not as if US embassy 'promotes Trump's Florida resort'

After the Obama's massive luxury vacation expenses and in the wake of Barack's massive multitrillion dollar debt legacy, alt left snake tears about expenses fail to impress

And the first "fat-assed bureaucrat" that needs to go is the dumb-ass that currently occupies the White House . . . uh . . . I mean Mar-a-Lago.

I'm sure that R2D2 or C3PO, either one, could do a far better job.

WickedsDesire -> RE: GOP government shutdown looms . . . despite no one wanting it (4/25/2017 8:39:23 AM)

Yes I remember trumps crocodile tears aimed at dumfuks like you, and him bitching away like the wee lying snivelling orange cunt that it is, about Obamas <$100 million dollar spend over 2 terms and 8 years.

And here we are :)

Heh dumfuk gonna tell me the difference between $100 million and $ 1000 million.

Is it per chance $900 million?

Anyway how is president dumbos golf handicap these days?

And the orange gibbon has already spent more than the whole 8 years of O'bamas vacation expenses.
And what's more, those expenses he bills the tax payer for goes straight into his own private coffers of his business empire.

In essence, he's ripping off the tax payer to line his own pockets!!

And you support this moronic and fraudulent behaviour??

WickedsDesire -> RE: GOP government shutdown looms . . . despite no one wanting it (4/25/2017 9:02:41 AM)

Well whilst we await on boscox answering the question - has anyone actually seen him answer a question with something resembling sense?

I thought I would share this nugget of the here and now on this one

well fuked if I know what his deranged pussy snatch claws (must of used a high speed cam to get his paws in focus) were doing with the bottle of water - phallic methinks inviting the poofters no doubt

But it was the Meet Muslim singles advert that had me weeing all over myself...Now in the animal kingdom I have marked my territory. Does that excite the bints....And they say I cannot interact with the women tuts

Charlie brown was total pish - that reminds me do they still do Calvin and Hobbes? - not to be confused with the orange hobo in office

Does he have a litter tray? Now I mull that one over would creature need to be special litter that absorbs radioactive jobbies

You don't understand how his "reasoning" works.

1) Everything R is automatically good.
2) If it contradicts earlier stances, see #1 and ignore the contradiction
3) If it's so bizarre that even rule #1 looks stupid, those were just RINOs.
4) If asked to present actual evidence and reasoning, talk about Hilary, Obama, fake news, and how you're just a troll.
