If they won't just go and fricking pay for it to start with, why the hell would they pay for it just because a Dr said so? Plus here in the UK a prescription costs less than £9, so the NHS would have to be picking up the rest of the tab. In the US you either have insurance, or you don't, so again either they won't pay, or someone else is also putting in to help cover the costs of what should just be a wank. Needles

They can already pay for it if they choose, if not, they can do like the rest of mankind and have a wank rather than put unnecessary stress on the NHS Because even if they had to pay for a Domme, which they weren't ever willing to pay for in the first place, just because a DR told them so, the Dr appointments would still be costing the tax payer, the referrals would still be costing the tax payer, and somewhere down the line you're get some bleeding heart idiot that would claim they couldn't possibly afford such treatment, and so therefore it should be funded. The reason these men don't want to pay for it is because paying for it has been associated with being a loser and pro-dommes are essentially prostitutes, which means that whether they like it or not, visiting them carries many of the same stigmas as visiting prostitutes. Would you believe a prostitute if she said you were the best fuck she ever had? Would you believe that her moans and screams and begging are real? What if you told her that this was what you wanted from her in advance? You could never be sure because you can never know if she's telling the truth. Haha... yes it probably makes more sense for the guy to ask what the prodomme likes and then if it sounds interesting, go for it... considering what the arrangement is supposed to be and all. The problem is that these guys always approach it in terms of what they want first and don't even ask what she wants. It's a subtle distinction, but definitely a relevant one. Nice attempt to get a debate going about Pro-Dommes. Not sure about the whole Pro-Dommes as therapy thing. People have tried to popularise sex surrogates for therapeutic purposes in the past but the problem is that society generally doesn't like the association of money and sex. And even though many Pro-Dommes do not provide "sexual services" and we often debate that here, it seems like a fine distinction to many people. However I don't think you really believe that doctors are going to be able to recommend their patients going for a bit of BDSM therapy any time soon. It would be far healthier if society didn't have a such a taboo about perfectly straight forward contracts between people involving money and intimate or BDSM services, but let's face it there are lots of people here who slag off Pro-Dommes for no good reason. For my part I have no problem with consensual and honest interactions between people and Pro-Dommes or prostitutes for that matter. There should certainly be nothing wrong or shameful in providing or using any such services. If we were all more tolerant we could all get over blaming those providing services for men being dishonest with there partners and concentrate on real issues such as trafficking, violence against women (and scamming, although that is more a crime of stupidity than anything else and not in the same league as the other two).
